Joanna finished her breakfast and was waiting for the guards to call out the finishing time for breakfast.
"Yeah man, the Mafia are pissed!" one of the men on the table behind her said and every cell in Joanna's being froze. "They say that this girl have one of their most crucial secret. If she by any chance tells someone, all the mafia's world will be in chaos." the men awed at the one who was talking. Joanna tried to listen closely.
"That's true. My cousin, Pedro, visited me yesterday. He said that she wasn't found at the prison she was suppose to be in, and now they are offering crazy deals for her head." Joanna flinched at the mention of her head. One of the men chuckled, "No one fucks with the mafia, man. That bitch must be shitting herself right now."
Oh, no. But she was about to.
The men behind her burst into laughter. If only they knew, that the "bitch" was right over here, she thought.
Joanna pushed off her chair the moment the buzz went off and guards started shouting. She was heading to the gate when someone stepped in front of her.
"In a hurry, Joanny?" Joanna recognized the ugly voice even before looking up. It was Steevy, with his lackeys, she noticed.
"Yep." She tried walking around him, but was stopped by one of large men.
"See, Jo, my jaw still hurts from yesterday." he stepped closer to her, rubbing his narrow, rough jaw, until his face was too close she could smell his disgusting breath again.
"And I was thinking," he continued, "whatcha gonna do about it?" he breathed the question out.
Joanna wrinkled her nose at the awful smell and looked away from his face. "Didn't eat my lunch yesterday. Wasn't it enough?" She continued looking away. No troubles for today, she reminded herself.
Steevy and his men started laughing. Joanna moved her eyes around for the guards, but because of the huge number of men around them, they must've been unnoticeable.
"Look, guys, I really want no troubles. So, if you could please move so I can pass through, it'll be great." Joanna said as politely as she could possibly be. Which was not very.
Steevy and his friends laughed again, now her patience was draining. "You heard that boys? he want to pass through." He turned his head back at his 'boys' and laughed again.
"Apologies first!" He brought his head back to her face again and hissed the words like a sticky snake.
Joanna's head went jumbles, so she decided to ignore it and act without thinking, like she always did, so she brought her face even closer to the man's face,
"Right after you loose you stinky breath." She breathed the words to him before she smirked broadly.
Steevy's face went red with anger, and his eyes turned murderous. Joanna stepped back quickly and almost stumbled on someone's foot behind her. Before she could look back, two strong arms came from behind her shoulders and flopped lazily on top of them. A head followed the arms and rested on her right shoulder. Joanna tried to identify the too close face that was resting on her shoulder to find the weirdo who spoke to her last night.
"The hell you are doing man?" steevy yelled, not at her but at the weirdo who wasn't looking at her, he was looking at Steevy with laughing eyes.
"You'll have to forgive my lackey, Steve. He has a big mouth." he said.
Joanna stopped resisting, as weird as he could be, maybe he could get her out of this problem.
"Fuck off, Julian! why should I?" Steevy sneered defensively.
