Big Aldo was pacing the halls of his small apartment when Fernando opened the front door suddenly.
“Boss?” Fernando stopped when he saw him, “You are still awake?”
“Yes.” Aldo narrowed his eyes at his loyal friend. “What happened to you?” he asked when he saw blood dripping front his right arm.
“Oh, it’s nothing.” Fernando said and walked quickly to the kitchen.
“So I gather the Denver family didn’t accept the offer.”
“No, sir. But we can do without them.” Fernando said from the kitchen.
“How are the other men?” Aldo asked.
“No injuries, just me since I was the one facing them.” Fernando came inside the living room while he held a small wed towel to in his hand.
Aldo looked at him when he sat down. He was cleaning the small wound slowly. Aldo remembered the first time he saw him. He was a mess.
“Are you tiered, Nando?” Aldo asked him, making him looking up from his wound and at him.
“Not that much, no.” he answered with a smile and returned to cleaning the wound.
“I meant are you tiered with this, of being with me?” Aldo clarified. He knew that Fernando owed him his life, but still, he wasn’t sure why he was that loyal to him when he could walk away any minute.
Fernando looked up at him with a shocked expression. He looked like the kid he was. “Why would you say that, boss?” He asked.
“I am not as powerful as before. At least, not yet. You’ve been dragged with me all those years. Why keep staying?” Aldo asked.
Fernando looked like he was hurt. “I owe you my life.” He choked the words out.
“Will, I spare you.” Aldo said immediately, waiting for his respond.
“No, you can’t!” Fernando exclaimed suddenly and stood up. He sounded as if he was begging. This man was too weird.
“Yes I can.” Aldo smiled at him.
“Sir, we are this close.” Fernando said and stepped closer to him. “So close to gain our power back.”
“That’s not my question.” Aldo told him, one of his thick brows arched.
Fernando looked down at him before he sat down in front of the couch Aldo was sitting on.
He looked at his deep green eyes. “I do owe you my life. But, that’s not really what made me stay with you all these years.” He began and Aldo narrowed his brows.
“Ever since that day when you took me in, I thought of you like a father.”
“But you had a father.”
