"Robin! Focus!" I heard Batman yelling. I was feeling light headed, I could hardly breathe. Where am I? Who am I? What am I even doing? Questions that made me doubt myself. There was a high pitch sound in my ear, made my head hurt. "Robin!" His voice grew larger and larger.

I was a street orphan. My mother was a drug addict who died of an overdose. My father worked as a hired muscle for Two-Face, and disappeared. One night, when I was wandering in Crime Alley to find something to eat, I saw a black car. A car that had some cool weapons, and had unnecessary bat wing decorations. It was the batmobile. The person who owns it, was the legendary hero of Gotham, Batman.

My stomach was rumbling, I was starving, I needed money. That's why I had the terrible idea of stealing his tires. He caught me doing it, but took me in instead. I didn't possess the acrobatic skills of the former Robin, who became Nightwing later. He offered me to be his partner, along with Batgirl, Barbara Gordan, who had become my secret crush since the day I met her. He trained me for six months, before I officially became Robin.

I'm not a role model for anyone. I swear all the time, except in front of Batgirl. I don't follow Batman's orders, sometimes to success and sometimes to failure. I'm a bad person, until Barbara talked me into changing.

"Robin! Do you hear me!" Batman yelled. "Wha.."
"You go get the joker, I'll stop the bomb."

"Yes. Batman." I answered, and started to run and I finally started to remember things. Tonight is my second attempt to arrest the joker. I ran and ran. There wasn't a sight of the joker. I heard a maniac laugh coming behind me.

"The bat sends a child to do a man's job again. So tell me boy wonder, who are you."
"You really think that I would tell you?" Jason turned around. No one was there.
"You're the son of one of Two-Face's goons." Joker's psychopathic voice said.
"Your father is still alive you know?"

Wait what? He was supposed to be missing! Did Batman... lied to me?
"See you next time, boy wonder." The voice then vanished.
A few minutes with the Joker had already made me question my life. A question appeared in my mind, and I need some answers.

"Robin, where is the Joker." Batman found me, standing in the middle of the warehouse.
"Is my father still alive?" I asked him, my voice was trembling.
"... Yes..."
"How could you lie to me! Is there more that you have kept from me?" I yelled at him.
"Robin... I..."
"Answer my question!"
"Your father has been arrested in a robbery that he took part with. And, your mother Catherine Todd, wasn't your biological mother. Your real mother's name is Sheila, who works as an aid worker..."

I didn't let him finish, and I ran away. "Robin!" I heard Bruce's voice shout. I can't go back to the batcave, nor the manor. I stole something to exchange to, a red hoodie and some black jeans. I drove my bike to Commissioner Gordan's house.

Barbara was the one who opened up.
"What's wrong?" she asked.
I asked if I could have something to eat and drink. She offered me a sandwich and some orange juice. I sneaked into her father's studies, and accessed his computer while she was preparing the food.
I then sneaked into the police station, knocking every officer there out, and went on their computer. After following a few leads, I found her, Sheila Haywood.

I jumped out of the window, and went on my way to find her.
Arriving at her house, I knocked twice.
"Who is it?" She opened. Her eyes looked the same as mine. "May I help you?"

"Hi, miss Haywood. I'm Jason, Jason Todd, your son." I said, nervously.
She scanned me from head to foot. Touched my hair, and looked me in the eyes.
"Oh my..." She was surprised. Well she did see her son that she gave birth to sixteen years ago.
She invited me in, gave me some hot chocolate, and asked me about my life.
I stayed there for a night, and she treated me well. Much better than Bruce. I told her everything, even about me being Robin. She listened carefully to every word I said.

"Wait what? You're the boy wonder?" shocked. I nodded.
"Maybe if you can help me? Someone was blackmailing me, forcing me to provide him with medical supplies."

She took me to a warehouse, and said that it was the place the criminal wanted her to meet him. I got into my Robin costume, held my fists tightly.

"Hehehehe." The maniacal laugh appeared again. "Great job Sheila." A man with pale white skin, bloody lips, and hair with the colour green in a purple suit, appeared in front of us. He shot her in front of me. She was soon covered in blood and said her final words. "Run!"

I couldn't react, it all happened too fast. Joker's henchmen soon surrounded me. They beated me and tied me to a chair.

"Nighty night, bird boy."
