Hope you enjoy :>

I woke up today and I searched for Kara, but she was nowhere in sight. I found her in the batcave, staring at the computer screens of a videotape of her cousin, Superman, saving Metropolis.
"Are you alright?" I asked her.
"He doesn't need my protection. He's all grown up. My purpose of staying on earth is gone. I don't belong here... I have no home. "
I expected a cheerful reply from the alien who just visited another planet, but has gone in deep sleep for years and was held captive in some army.
"I don't get why Kal is trying so hard to save those people. Some of them tortured me, locked me up in a pit with no sun for six months."

"I'm not tortured by crazy armies, and not from Krypton, but I understand what it feels like. They couldn't hurt me physically, but they did, mentally. I just became Batgirl because I think it's cool, to stop crime, and it's the right thing to do." I don't care what other people say about me, but deep inside, I feel lonely, distanced from other people.

"You and I are alike. I can feel that." She said, turning her head to me. She looked me in the eye. I didn't know why, but I feel that I want to be friends with her.

"I can be your first friend here on earth. But, I'm starving. Let's go and have breakfast." I told her and I reached out my hand to her. She held it and I started running to the kitchen.

Making friends isn't so bad... I guess. Maybe I'll try out for the team, which Dick has been talking about for ages. I have three friends now, that's an accomplishment.

When I opened the kitchen door, Dick was there, and he was drinking milk straight from the carton!
"Eww... What the heck." I couldn't stop myself from being disgusted.
"Hey, that's not a nice first thing to say to your best friend , you just saw him after six months!" He cried.
"But that's really disgusting." I whispered. "Why are you here?"
"Taking a break from Bludhaven, and recruiting you to the team!" He said, smiling. "You'll enjoy it! For real!"

"Fine." I finally agreed to the offer after hearing Dick talking about his team for the gazillionth time. "Yes! Now, where's Bruce and Jason? And... Who's this?" he asked, finally realizing Kara.
"Superman's cousin, she's staying with me for a while. I don't know about Bruce and Jason though." I answered. Kara started eating her breakfast, and I sat next to her.

"Master Bruce and Master Jason went out for a while last night. They should be back by now." Alfred said, placing the jam on the table.

We heard footsteps, it was Bruce and Jason, still in their costumes. Covered in condiment king's mustard.
"Someone's gonna be late to school." I whispered to Kara, and she started laughing.
"Speaking of school," Bruce started. They all heard me. Whateves. "I applied to Kara and Dick as an exchange student to Gotham Academy."

"I know, I picked up our uniforms already." Dick said, and handed Kara's to Kara. "Look after her." Bruce told Dick and I.
We finished our breakfast and headed to school.

.
"So this is school? Interesting." Kara wandered around. "Just remember, no super powers." I told her.
"Of course. I know that. Ooh what's that!" Kara flew to see the airplane clearer.
This is gonna be a long day...
"Kara! get back here!"
.
.
.
Luckily, we made it through the day.
"So, it's time to head to Mount Justice. Nervous?" Dick asked me. "No. Well, maybe kinda. Ugh... I hate humans..." I said.
"Let's go. To the bat jet." Dick smiled and climbed on the jet.
"Good luck!" Jason and Kara cheered for me. I did a fake smile and left.
