The crowds started to cheer when the black haired girl walked to the stage. The spotlight shone at her, she tipped her top hat and started the performance. When the crowd calmed down, she started speaking. "Ladies and Gentlemen, dreamers of all ages, welcome to tonight's show. My name is Zee Zatara." She said, confidently.
Her black silky raven hair splashed on her shoulders and her ocean blue eyes looked confident, filled with joy. She flipped her tophat upside down, and she pulled out a rabbit from her hat. The crowd started to cheer again. One rabbit wasn't enough, then she pulled another, and another, until the stage was crowded with white rabbits. She said some kind of spell, then all the rabbits on the stage poofed, and disappeared. The crowd cheered louder and louder after each of her tricks. She felt overjoyed, respected and admired. The show lasted for an hour and a half, then a thirty minute sign event. Before the signing event, she went back to her dressing room. To change into clothes that were more comfortable than a tight white vest and shorts above her thighs, and have some rest. When she opened her dressing room door, she could sense something was different, someone was in there. Then she looked again, and found a basket of red roses on the makeup table, with a letter in at the side. Red roses, her favourite. The majestic scent of wild roses filled up the room, as she unfolded the letter, and started reading it. The paper was pilgrim, and inked with purple ink.
"Dear Z,
A marvellous job you did out there. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to stay until the signing event, so I left these for you. Remember when we tried to make a bouquet for Megan's birthday, and we went shopping for flowers with Artemis, and you would pick the best roses? And that time that we played hide and seek in mount justice because we were bored? It wasn't quite fair, I recall that you have magic powers and I don't. And one time we had a sleepover in my house during the Christmas holidays? Those are the memories when I was still batgirl, but you haven't changed a bit. You were always that optimistic girl, powerful and cool. The memory I treasure most of you, is the time before I woke up from the hospital, and my dad, Kara and you would take turns to watch me when I was in coma. You were the first person that I saw when I woke up.I missed the days when we called ourselves the superhero girls, and formed a team with Kara, Karen and Jess. I don't remember why we had the courage to ask Wonder Woman to join, but it was very funny and unexpected that she actually led us on a mission. I will forever remember the time you knocked me out hard in a practice, because of jealousy (I'm kidding and we laugh about this. right?) I sometimes think of our trio as those three spirits from "A Christmas carol." Kara is reaching for the future, and you are happy with your success in your life (except your love life :>) And I'm chasing for the past.Thank you for having my back, and now I must go. (If you get married in two years be sure to invite me)
Love,
Babs Gordon"
Zatanna closed the letter, being careful not to cry over her makeup. She dressed herself in a white t-shirt with a purple bat symbol, which was a batgirl merchandise years ago, a black and white striped cardigan and some sweatpants. She took her high boots off and some sneakers on and ran to her signing event. "Thank you Babs, for everything." She mumbled. She may not know what Barbara is planning, but she would support her for everything that doesn't harm the earth. She arrived at her signing event with a big smile on her face. Looking up at the banners with her face and her name on it, she thanked all of her fans and greeted them one by one.
