A/N

Finally. A chapter.

I'm not going to lie. The temptation to look into the forbidden hallway was getting harder and harder to ignore. Especially, since knowing Adrian Parker was there, chained up according to Angel and breathing as long as Angel is. The way Angel speaks so nonchalant about it, makes me feel a little at ease- it's the fact now I know he'd never go after me.

So I walk down the stairs at ease, enter the kitchen at ease, and eat in my own home as if he isn't there. Though, I feel as if dangers are lurking in the background. Parker may be locked up but I had a feeling he has people still working for him. The word serpent ran through my mind and the coincidence of Timothy working at my school just when I returned from my honeymoon!

"Uh Jalah?" Seth's voice snaps back from my trance.

I look over my shoulders, the sound of the fridge beeping reminding me where I am.

"You getting anything anytime soon?"

I mutter a sorry as I grab a bottle of water, tap on the button thingy to stop the beeping, and step aside for Seth. Holding the door for him, I also watch him grab a bottle of water. The fridge closed with a loud thud and from the end of my bottle of water as I drank, I realized that Seth was almost taller than the fridge.

His unkempt hair poked at every end, his skin glistening with sweat and he wore his sporting gear.

"Like what you see?" He smirks, closes the cap of his water bottle, and looks at me up and down. Slowly as if to memorize me.

"Yes," I mumbled, looking at the table and placing my half-filled bottle there. "Can I ask you a favor?"

"Sure," Seth takes a step towards me, placing his bottle near mine, fingers brushing mine and my head tilted back to look up at him.

"I would like to take self-defense classes with you. I don't know but Angel told me that you ran the training side of the business." I ramble, brushing strands of freshly done passion twists over my shoulders.

Seth eyes the movement, taken back by the change of hairstyle- from cornrows to extensions- but doesn't comment on it.

"I can train you right now." He agrees, pulling his hand away from the table, "I'll wait for you in the living room."

"Okay," I exhale, biting my lips as I walk around him, making sure I thread my fingers through his on my way to the bedroom.

My heart picks up its speed as I open my bedroom door, ranging in the cardboard, and pick a workout fit. Tight grey some leggings and a singlet. I quickly got changed and stood in the mirror, checking to see if it looked all right, hyping myself up because I was spending time with Seth.

"Everything is going to be alright," I repeat, grabbing a small handbag with my phone and charger as well as other necessities.

The walk down the stairs was faster. More exciting as I practically speed walk to Seth, not even a glance at the forbidden hallway and I smile at the moment of pause he takes as he looks at me.

"Ready to go?" I nod, putting the strap of my bag over my shoulders, and follow Seth out of the door.

"I'm not taking another trip because I promise my wife I'm going to be home for longer this time. You don't need me to do your fucking job-" Angel also took a moment of pause to look at me. The conversation at the other end of his phone went silent as well.

I look down at my outfit again, seeing nothing was different except the clothes clung to me like a second skin and I look good. Sexy.

"Where are you going?" Angel asks, putting his phone on mute and meeting me halfway down the walking path for a quick kiss on the lips.
