Chapter 26

No one really understood why he was so upset. They all thought I just found a clue and that I would be back but Max knew that wasn't it.

I woke up with a slight headache as I exited the bus. I went to stay at a hotel for the night. I didn't have much money so I had to find a way to save with the amount of money I had. I layed down in bed and fell asleep. I opened my eyes and the power went out! I quickly but quietly got out of bed and went outside and went to the main office but no one was there. I knocked on all my neighbors' doors but no one was here. I thought I was all alone but I wasn't. I heard footsteps coming from behind me. I swung around to see the mark he was laying on the floor covered in blood "oh my god!" I cried as I ran over to him. He was all beat up, his eyes wide open staring at the dealing but I was too late . He wasn't alive. I screamed and cried in horror. I didn't know what to do! In tears I called an Uber and I went home. It was midnight so I didn't Expect anyone to be awake. When I got home I quietly opened the door to see Max had fallen asleep in a chair in front of the door. I stood and stared at him then my bag on the floor jumped up "oh did I fall asleep" max said then he fully opened his "Millie!" He yelled as he ran to me with tears in his eyes "I'm so glad you're okay!" Max cried "yeah I might be okay but someone else is not" I said softly max pulled away "what?" He asked "mark's"-I couldn't finish that sentence "mark's what?" Max asked "he's-he's dead" I blurted out and Max stared at me in shock "what?" Max said again "he's f dead" I repeated max just looked at me before running off to Grayson room he ran in and yelled "marks dead" max yelled jaz jumped up from the floor "what?" She asked "what are you doing here?" Max asked "I couldn't sleep. I was worried about Mark so I came in here and fell asleep on the floor" jaz said as she walked over to max "what did you say about mark?" Jaz asked "he's dead" and Max said quietly "what how?" Jaz's words were sharp. "Millie found him dead, it was too late" max added jaz turned to him in tears, "Why is this always happening to me!?" Jaz asked in tears "I'm so, so sorry" I said as I ran and hugged her, I was also in tears.

That night couldn't possibly get worse but I spoke too soon. "I'm getting a call? I shouted "answer it" jaz said "okay" I said as I picked up my phone "hello?" I said "Millie, I heard about Mark. I'm so sorry but it's not safe to be by yourself. I will come live with you till it's safe." I looked back at Grayson "excuse me who is this?" I asked "that's not important" the man said then he hung up. I turned to them "I don't know who it was but they said they know about Mark and they are coming to live with us till it's safe" I said "what?" Max asked "I don't know but they will be here any minute" I said as I sat on the couch (ding ding) "there no way he can be here that fast" max said concerned I opened the door in shock. "Uncle mike?" I said out loud "I don't have time to explain but it's not safe by yourself. I will live with you till it's safe" uncle Mike walked in and put his stuff on the floor. "I don't trust you!" Jaz yelled across the room "now why jazmn would you not trust me?" Mike's accent didn't make what he said better "you married a psycho killer, what in your right mind made you think that was okay!?" Jaz yelled "she's different now that's all in the past" mike brushed it off I stared at him in shock "she killed my parents then provided to kill me!" I blurted out I quickly put my hands over my mouth max and grayson turned to me. "That's why I left her to save you" Mike said "fine but you only get a few days and if you try anything I have a gun and I'm not afraid to shoot you, do you understand !" I said jaz turned to me "I'm exhausted okay just let him stay"I said then I walked to my room I laid on my bed jaz entered my room "Millie I understand your tired of arguing my they tried to kill you?!" Jaz said she didn't think this was a good idea. "I know just give him a few days if he tries anything I have a gun on me" I said as I looked at my boots.

"Hey, where should Mike sleep?" Max peaked in "marks" I said max nodded max was about to walk away when jaz said "are just going to ignore the fact that Millie has a gun!?" Max stopped and turned to us. I took a step back "I was winding that to" grayson said as he walked in. They all turned to me "where did you get that gun and why do you have it?" Jaz asked I sighed "look I found it when I found mark so I took it for protection" I said "I don't feel comfortable sleeping at night knowing you have a gun" jaz said "same" grayson said "look I know how to use it and there no bullets in it yet okay I took them out" I said acting like it no big deal. "Yeah we are just worried about your safety and I don't think it's a good idea for a 16 year old to have a gun" Max said "I'm 17 but you wouldn't know since you all forgot my birthday, now will you all just get out of my room?" I asked, my voice sharp and firm. "Fine" jaz said as they all walked out "shut my door behind you!" I shouted. That night I couldn't sleep. I got up out of my bed and walked over to my shoes. I pulled out my gun and put the bullets in then slid it in my pocket then went downstairs. As the stairs creaked under my feet I slowly but quickly I walked over to the room where Mike was sleeping. I slowly opened the door and walked up to his bed then pulled out my gun and said "wake up" I said quietly but loud enough for him to hear me mike sat up quickly "what are you doing!?" Mike asked "look I don't know what your plan is but I don't believe your little sob story!" I said as I held up the gun to his head "I don't know what you're talking about?" Mike said "you just happen to show up the day mark died you say you left violet but did you really?!" My voice was slowly getting higher. "Your crazy Millie" was all he could say! that I'm crazy?! "Oh I'm crazy but you can marry a killer?" I stared at him as I pointed my gun slowly higher "start talking before I shoot you" he looked at me but didn't say a word.

"Answer me!" I yelled "fine I'm still with violet and my plan was to kill you like we killed your dad" mike said almost in tears "I knew you were lying!" I shouted "I was planning on killing you just like your dad!" What he said caught me off guard. "Shut up!" I yelled still in a whisper "you know it was all planned your dad hated being related to her, he was ashamed of Violet so we did him a favor" mike smiled "you take that back!" I yelled "no he deserved it just like You!" I stared at him in shock with tears in my eyes "stop!" I yelled in tears "no he deserved it and so do yo"-my eyes lit up in horror as the bullet hit him. I dropped the gun in tears "no no no!" I ran to him, Grayson, Max and jaz ran in. "What the he"-"I didn't mean to!" I yelled as I backed up. I picked up the gun then fell to the ground in tears "what did you do?!" Gryason yelled I couldn't breath tears running down my face, my mind filled with thoughts. Max ran to me "she's hyperventilating!" Max yelled jaz ran to me "Millie looked at me" jaz said but I couldn't think straight I couldn't even look at her. "I'm sorry" I choked out. I was still hyperventilating. "What are we going to do about mike?!" Grayson asked "jaz stood up " i don't know?put him in a bag and put him in the dumpster" grayson looked at jaz in horror "you can't just do that"-jaz cut him off "do you want Millie to go to jail?!" The room Went silent beside my cry's 'I didn't think so now do it!" Jaz demanded. Grayson nodded then ran off. Max ran to me "this is why we didn't want you to have a gun because an accident happened" jaz said "it wasn't an accident" I mumbled "what?" Max looked at jaz "it was but wasn't at the same time, he hurt me so bad he needed to understand that but I didn't mean to do it like this" I cried even harder now. Max looked at me "look at me" max said so I did "give us the gun! Max said calmly "no" I said "give it" jaz demanded.

I handed her the gun. "Why are you guys so calm?" Asked still in tears "because we're in shock and don't know how to process this" jaz said "Grayson come here!" Jaz yelled Grayson ran as fast as he could " you didn't do it yet right?" Jaz asked "no?" Gryason replied bring him and put him on the bed. Jaz said "what why?" Gryason asked, confused. "Just do it!" Jaz said grayson nodded then put him on the bed "clean the gun thr out it in his hand" jaz said we all looked at her confused but we did it. Jaz grabbed her phone and Called 911. "HELP PLEASE MY UNCLE KILLED HIMSELF!" Jaz cried "okay honey stay, help is on the way, but can you tell me how?" The lady asked "he shot himself in the head" jaz said in tears ''okay honey stay on the line is there any other adult with you?" She asked "no he was the only one" jaz said "is there anyone else with you?" She asked "yeah my sister, her boyfriend and my boyfriend" jaz said calmly. Gryason's face turned red as his head wiped over to jaz "okay got it they will be here any minute now stay calm" she said "there here" she said the jaz hung up. There was a knock on the door. Jaz ran and let them in "he's in here," Jaz said in tears as she ran to Grayson and hugged him. "So how did this happen?" one of the officers asked, "he killed himself!" Jaz cried. Gryason didn't let go "he shot himself" gryason said "oh, I'm so sorry" the man said I couldn't breathe again I fell into max's arms ''woah is she alright?" The officer asked "yeah she just had a lot of trauma and this just isn't helping" max said as he hugged me tight. After they left grayson turned to jaz "did you call me your boyfriend?" Gryason asked "maybe" grayson smiled then jaz turned to me "how are you holding up?" Jaz asked. I was still laying in max's arms but i didn't say anything "maybe we should just get some rest" max suggested "yeah if we even can" gryason said.
