Chapter 13

When I got back home I ran up to my room, my mind battling with my emotions. I heard footsteps behind me as I looked up to see jaz leaning on the door frame with her arms crossed and a worried expression on her face "hey, what's wrong, I thought you were staying the night at Emily's?" asked jaz "I was" I said timidly "but not anymore" "why, what happened? jaz asked "I don't really know at this point, I'm just trying to figure some things out right now" I said "come on tell me what happened" said jaz "no it's fine, I'm fine" I said "come on you can tell me anything you know that" said jaz trying to convince me "I said I don't want to tell you!" I lashed out she looked at me hurt but them remembered "look I know I haven't always been easy to talk to and i know its hard for me to understand when I'm wrong but i know you've always struggled with communicating your emotions but you need to tell me what's wrong so i can help you" jaz said said calmly then more the opened up the more it made me more comfortable. "Jaz i think emily likes me but I didn't know how to tell her I don't like her back panicked" I said looking down at the ground avoiding eye contact "wait she liked you ?" Asked Jaz

"Yeah I don't know what to do" i said jaz nodded her head "invite her over" "i looked at jaz "what" i asked confused "i said invite her over" said jaz enthusiastically "why, I'm not ready!" I complained "jaz you need to tell her how you feel" said jaz as she put her hand on my shoulder we made eye contact for a good minute until I finally said "fine, I'll invite her over" i said as I grabbed my phone and texted her to come over. (Ding dong) jaz walked downstairs and opened the door "Millie's upstairs" she said as Emily nodded then walked upstairs to my room "knock knock" she said as she leaned in the door "hey" I said as I tapped on my bed my heart racing 100 miles per hour "you wanted to talk to me?" Asked Emily her heart was racing as she walked over and sat on the bed "yes I need to tell you how I feel" I said she looked at me I could tell she was nervous he leg was shaking "okay" she said "what you said earlier I didn't know how to react I'm sorry" I said Emily cut me off "I'm sorry I made you uncomfortable, I flirt when I'm nervous" she laughed nervously

"No, it's fine I just when you looked at me like that I just realized I don't like you like that" I said "oh okay" Emily said "but it's okay we can still be friends" I said she nodded "well should we continue this sleepover" asked Emily I smiled "of course!" I said then we sat on my bed to watch a movie until "Millie I thought you were dating Margo?" She asked "no I broke up with him" I said "why?" She asked "because i realized I found someone better" i said as I grabbed her hand she smiled "where should I sleep?" She asked "um well i was thinking about the floor?" I said "you want a guest to sleep on the floor!?" She said sarcastically "yes" I said we both laughed after that we spent hours talking. "Millie I need you guys to go to sleep okay it's midnight" said jaz "okay jaz" I said then we got in our beds. "Millie?" Said Emily "yeah?" I said tiredly "it's really uncomfortable down here" she said "you can come up here I have a queen size bed" I offered "okay thanks" I said Emily as she got up here and layed down then went to bed. When I woke up in the morning I looked over to see Emily still sleeping and she had no blanket so I put it on her then went to take a shower.

Emily got up to see Millie not there "Millie" she said but no reply till Millie walked into the room "Millie where were you?" Asked Emily "I went to take a shower while You slept" I said, drying my hair with a towel "why didn't you wake me?" She asked "you where to cute I couldn't wake you" I said smiling "oh shut up" said Emily blushing "I have to get going my dads here" said Emily looking at her phone "okay I'll go let your dad in I said as I ran downstairs "hello" is aid "come in" "oh thank you" he said "so what's your name?" Asked Emily dad "my name is Millie rose" I said smiling that name sounds familiar he thought "and you?" I asked "oh I'm Oliver Galiger" "oh that's nice"I said "are you related to Violet rose by any chance?" Asked Oliver "oh yes I am did you know her?" I asked Oliver panicked "Emily get down here now!" Yelled Oliver "I don't want you near my daughter ever again I know what you're like!" Screamed Oliver "what no what are you talking about?!" I asked, concerned "you know what I'm talking about, Violet many people she's psychotic!" He screamed "Emily ran down the stairs ''what" she said "come on let's go I never want you to see her again!" Screamed Oliver "what why!" Yelled Emily "she's a monster!"

He screamed then yanked her arm and ran to the car with her. I fell to the floor in tears. Emily hated her dad always and always will. I never understood why until now. As I watched them drive away my heart broke. I felt a hand on my shoulder instantly. I turned around to see jaz staring at me with a look on her face. Could she tell I was upset? "Millie" she choked "what just happened?" I just looked at her in tears. My mild filling up with thoughts I didn't know what to say. "Millie, answer me" Jaz screamed in tears the words where caught my thought "I-she's gone" I finally choked out she looked at me blankly "what do you mean she's gone" Jaz looked at me concerned I just broke into tears just thinking about it. Was she really gone forever? "Millie please what happened to Emily" I looked up at jaz with all the emotion in her face, all the worry she had about me, I couldn't worry her even more than I already had. I quickly wiped away my tears and stood up and smiled "nothing-i'm fine, she's fine" I said smiling then I walked away "stop" jaz yelled I was to scared to keep walking so I did I turned around "Millie I know you're trying to protect me and not make me worried but that's not your job" she said with a lot of emotion in her face as a tear ran down her face "im supposed to protect you im your big sister!" She looked at me hurt "I didn't want to worry you" I cried "Millie worried about you already, Millie you hurt yourself really really bad physically and mentally you're not okay but you pretend that you are!" She cried. I looked at her in shock. I couldn't believe she would say that she promised she wouldn't.

Since that fight me and Jaz haven't been as close as we were before. I come to see her asleep on the couch some nights and others she's not even home. home i hardly even see her anymore even though we live in the same house! The thing that I don't understand is why she is mad at me. I didn't do anything. I'm the one who should be mad! I know I was still mad at her but she was right in some ways but i do care about her, i just worry about her so much sometimes i wonder if she would be better off without me? I understand that she was just worried about me but she crossed the line.
