"Max!l I said as I walked over I tapped him on the shoulder "max who are these people?" I asked. "Oh um-thereeeee-umm" I couldn't understand him "come with me" I said as I grabbed his hand and we walked away. Max couldn't walk in a straight line so I stopped. "Are you drunk!?" I asked him "whatttt-noo" Max said trying to play it cool. "oh my god I left you for two seconds and you got drunk!" I said as I grabbed his hand "come on we're leaving" I told max. "Noooo-Idon't-want to leave '' Max complained "too bad" I said as we got in the car. "Crap, I-I can't drive!" I turned to Max who sat in the backseat. "I guess I'll figure it out on the way," I said as we drove off. I pulled into the parking lot of a hotel. "We can't go home Grayson and jaz will kill us so we have to stay here for the night" I sighed as we walked in. "Hello, can I get one room and two beds?" I asked the lady "sure that will be 100$" I nodded then handed her the money then we walked to our room. Max plopped the bed "ugh I'm so boreeed" max complained "we'll do something in a minute let me just get situated" I said as I walked over and sat next to him. "What do you want to do?" I asked "umm-we could go to a partyyy" max said "ugh no max something we can do here" I told him. "Fine, let's just play a game" max said "what kind of game?" I asked "i don't know something funnn" max said "how about truth or dare?" Max asked "sure" I said"just let me call a friend first" I said as I pulled out my phone. When I first started senior year here I made a friend. Her name was Ruby, so I called her. "Hey ruby" I said "yeah" ruby said "okay listen "my boyfriend drunk we are at a hotel. I need your help" I said, my mouth talking as fast as it could. "Wait, hold up you have a boyfriend?" Ruby asked "yes and long story short he's drunk and I need your help" I said "okay I'm on my way send me your location" ruby said "okay I will" I said as I hung up then sent her my location.

Ruby knocked on the door "ruby ugh thank god you're here I need your help" I said as she walked in. "Ruby this is max, max this is ruby" I said max got up "hi I'm max" max said as he walked over to us "hi I'm ruby" max came over and put his hand around my waist "so anyone up for truth or dare?" Max asked "sure" me and ruby said at the same time. "Alrighty you go first" Max said as he pointed to ruby "oh me okay" ruby said as she turned to me "Millie I dare you to call someone and tell them how you can't find your phone and just act crazy to see if they notice" ruby laughed "okay, okay" I said as i pulled out my phone "hey madi" I said "oh hey Millie what's up?" Madi asked "I can't find my phone and I don't know what to do. I'm literally losing my mind!" I complained "oh umm I don't know where you got it last?" Madi asked "I don't know!" I said as I hung up. Me, Ruby and Max all laughed. Next up it was Max so I turned to him "Millie" Max said "I dare you to tell us your deepest darkest secret" Max said I looked at him. "Umm-I killed somebody by mistake" I said confidently ruby's head turned to look at me "what" she said "I'm-uh just messing with you" I laughed nervously. Then it was my turn "max I dare you to-tell me a secret" I said as I looked at him. "Fine" Max said "I found out a few days after this but Grayson purposely locked us in the freezer that one time" Max laughed. "What" I said as I stared at him "yeah-I guess he thought it was funny I don't know he like knew I liked you I guess soo" max shrugged "oh my god" I said as I laughed "you liked me before I even knew" I laughed "yeah I just thought you liked Emily since it was obvious she liked you" max said. "Yeah I don't know how you didn't notice" ruby chimed in. "Oh shut up like you knew" I laughed "yeah kinda" ruby laughed. After a good 30 minutes of playing it was max's turn again. I took a sip of water. Millie I dare you to-tell me something you've never told me" I choked on my water "sorry that caught me off guard" I said "but sure why not" I smiled. "When i first met you I actually liked you i did but i never said anything so when you had a girlfriend i got jealous and i happen to be moving" "Alright I think I've had enough truth or dare for one night"

"Millie if you don't mind I'm going to go home now I'm tired" ruby said as she grabbed her stuff. "Yeah I think I can handle him now, plus he's really cute when he's drunk" I smiled "okay" ruby said as she left. "Millie I'm tiredd" max said as he laid down "okay it's 12 anyway so I'm going to bed" I smile as I got in bed. In the morning I woke up to Grayson and jaz blowing up my phone, so I turned my phone on silent then I turned to max. Max woke up confused "um what's going on and where are we?" Max asked. I walked over to him "where at a hotel" I replied "what? Why?" Max asked as I looked at him "you don't remember anything that happened?" I asked Max, looking at me confused, "no?" Max said "why, what's going on?" Max asked. "Okay calm down" I paused. "Okay so long story short last night you took me to a festival. I went to the bathroom and you got drunk and jaz and Grayson would kill us if they found out so I came here until now" I said max just stared at me in shock. "I-I got drunk?" Max asked "yeah" I said "and I got videos" I smiled "YOU DO?!" Max asked me to pull out my phone "Ruby recorded us last night" I smiled as I showed him (Ruby this is max, max this is ruby" I said max got up "hi I'm max" max said as he walked over to us "hi I'm ruby" max came over and put his hand around my waist "so anyone up for truth or dare?" Max asked "sure" me and ruby said at the same time. I took a sip of water. "I-I did and said all of that?" Max looked up from the phone. I smiled "yup" I laughed "oh my" max said "not going to lie to you where do cute when you're drunk" I smiled "oh my, Millie stop" max said as he got up to grab a water bottle. "Now what, jaz and Grayson are probably going to kill us" max said as we walked back over to me and sat next to me. "They both called me ten times but i put my phone on silent sooo-" I said "what!?" Max asked "yeah I-I don't know" I smiled nervously "call them!" Max insisted so I did. "Hello" I said "Millie oh thank god you're okay! Where are you!?" Jaz asked "um we stayed the night at a friend's house because it was too late to come home and we were um-tired and my phone died so" I said "oh okay" jaz said then I hung up. But then I got a call from Grayson. "I know you told jaz you were at a friend's house but I didn't buy it . Where are you?!" Grayson asked "please don't be mad" I begged "fine as long as you and max are okay" Grayson said "yea we are" I said "okay then tell me" grayson said concerned. "Okay so I went to the bathroom and grayson went to buy us some sodas but some guy asked if he wanted a free drink and he didn't think about it so he took it then he got drunk and I was worried you would kill me so I took him to a hotel till he was better" I said as it all just came out of my mouth. Grayson didn't reply "I know I saw rubys story's I just wanted to hear it from you" Grayson said "of course you did" I sighed. "Grayson I'm really sorry" max apologized "it's okay max you didn't know" Grayson laughed "wait did you see every video!?" Max asked "Yeah," Grayson laughed. Max looked at me "yeah I saw that whole thing between you too" Grayson laughed again. "To be honest you're so cute with Millie when you're drunk" Grayson said 'thanks what i said" i laughed "Oh shut up" max said. "Alright we'll just please come home" Grayson begged "yeah sure" max said as he hung up. Me and Max walked into the house. "Millie" jaz ran to me "Grayson told me everything and I'm not mad" jaz said "plus he showed me the videos" jaz laughed "ugh can we just not talk about this and just move on" max complained as he laid down on the couch. "I'm sorry but it's so funny" Grayson laughed "he does have a point" I added "Millie not you too" max said we all laughed.

"Millie wake up" I opened my eyes confused "yeah" I said as I sat up. "Can I um-talk to you?" Max said "oh um yeah" I looked at him confused "come with me" max said as he grabbed my hand. "Where are we going?" I asked "somewhere" Max replied as we left the house. I looked at my phone "max it's midnight" I said as we continued walking. "I know but we need to talk" Max said as we stopped "Where are we?" I asked "the lake" Max replied. I looked at him "why?" I asked softly "sit" max said as we sat. "Millie I like you I do but I feel like ever since we met I've just made your life miserable" Max said, I could tell Max was hurt by his tone of voice. "What Max?" he looked away. "It's my fault you left the pier that night it's my fault you got beat up it's all my fault" I could see the pain in max's eyes. "and I'm sorry I wasn't there for you like I should have been"-"Max" Max stopped "what?" I looked into Max's eyes "stop, it's not your fault you shouldn't be responsible for my actions" Max didn't know what to say. "Millie I love you I do but I don't think i can do this anymore" I looked at max hurt "what are you saying?" I asked "I think we should break up" I looked at Max in tears "it's not that I don't love you I just-I'm not ready for a relationship, and this is not good for my mental health" max was in tears. "I'm sorry Millie but this is my goodbye" tears ran down my face "max" that was the only thing I could say "I'm sorry Millie" max said as he walked away in tears. I just stood there in tears. I didn't know what to do. "Max wait" I called out and Max stopped and turned around. "Can I have a hug?" I asked Max not to say anything but he ran and hugged me "I'm going to miss you" I said quietly "me to Millie, me too."
