Chapter 9

 A few months later it was Thanksgiving and we were getting the house ready for when the family comes over. "Mom, have you seen my new shirt I got specifically for thanksgiving!?" Shouted Mel "no I haven't!" Yelled mom millie walked into my room "no I haven't stop losing your shirts all the time" I said millie walked in and sat on my bed "are you okay?" I asked "no I'm not I feel like you and mom and dad don't like me" said Mel "Mel why do you feel like that?" I asked "jazz you always get special attention like when you got suspended mom and dad were like chill" Mel said "Millie it was only because I did nothing wrong!" I said as I stood up from my bed "you talked back to our math teacher and yelled at him!" Said Millie "you were there I did what I had to do!" I Shouted "jazz I came in here to tell you how I feel but you're not even paying attention you're just making everything about yourself!" Cried Millie as she ran out of the room and ran into her room "what is wrong with her i'm clearly not okay and she doesn't care!" Cried Millie she sat there on the floor crying for a few minutes until she heard footsteps coming up the stairs she quickly wiped her tears away and sat on her bed pretending to be on her phone "Millie are you in here" said dadás he opened the door "Millie" he said "yes dad" she answered "i was wondering-are you okay you look like you were crying?"he asked concerned as he sat on the bed next to her "um yeah I'm fine why?" He asked deeply concerned "you guys are always hanging out with Jazmzin and she always gets out of trouble, you guys always forget to pick me up and everything is always about her" she said quietly in tears "oh my god Millie why didn't you tell me you felt like this?" He asked "because I never have time to talk to you Millie is always talking" I cried

"I'm so sorry I hurt you like this I had no idea" he said "no dad it's not just you it's everyone" she said calmly "how can I help you?" He asked "just please don't forget about me okay" I said then he hugged me "I promise I won't" he said. Mom walked in "what's going on?" She asked "Millie, can you give us a second?" He asked "sure" she said as she got up and walked away mom walked in and sat on the bed "what's going on she asked?" (Noah explained everything) "oh my god why didn't she tell us?" Asked Camilla "because we are always paying attention to Jazmin we tend to forget about her" said Noah she just looked at Noah with tears in her eyes "we're bad parents" she said "no where not" said Noah "we're ruining her mental health!" Said Camilla as she stood up "I know we have to do something to make this right" said Noah "we will" said Camilla. A few hours later all the family was over and they were having a family dinner for thanksgiving. "So how's everything going?" Asked grandma "everything is great!" Said Jazmin "good dear, how about you Millie?" She asked to just look at her then at mom and dad "I'm doing fine" I said "good, good" said grandma after that dinner was pretty silent until my aunt and uncle showed up then we had a great thanksgiving dinner. After dinner I stopped to talk to uncle "hey uncle Mike" I said "yes" said uncle mike "what happened to your wife my aunt why don't I know her?" I asked "Millie you know we can't talk about this" he whispered I grabbed his arm and brought him outside "please tell me I need to know" I said "fine, your aunt is Violet rose" he said "what

happened to her?" I asked.

"in 2006 you aunt got arrested for something your dad did she took the blame so he would go to jail because he was only 7" said uncle mike "wait really! What did my dad do?" I asked "I can't say but if you want to meet her you can just come live with me" he said "okay can you ask?" "Sure" he said then went inside. It took a while for my dad to day yes but he did so I went to go pack my stuff then we left. Once we got to his house he set up a room for me so I went to unpack. My room was all done so it was finally time to see my aunt! I came downstairs to see my aunt Violet sitting on the couch "hi!" I said excitedly "hi you must be Millie" said Violet "yes I am can I have a hug?" I politely asked "sure" she said as I hugged her after that she sat on the couch and explained everything that had happened before I was born. "He hosted you after you went to jail for him!" I shouted "yeah" Violet said "oh my god I'm so mad at him!" I yelled "why would he do that?" I asked "he was scared I guess" she said I just looked at her "I'm so sorry that happened" I said "thanks Millie'' she said "I'm so mad I just want to kill him!" She said "ooo what do you think about that?!" I just stared at her in shock "I mean he had been forgetting me my whole life but he's trying!"I said "no he's not before he ghosted me he told me that he was trying to see me but he wasn't you dad lies a lot please just help me I'll go back to jail if we get caught?" She said "okay fine" . I only egress was because uncle mike told me what she did to her parents a while ago so I was too scared to say no.

In the morning she said that we had to act normal in front of Mike. He didn't know what we were doing. "Good morning Millie" said uncle mike "good morning" I said "I should get going to school now" I said looking at un l mike "okay have a good day" he said as he waved goodbye I shut the door and went to my friends house so we could walk together. I knocked on the door "max" I said max opened the door "hi,I'm almost ready" she said "okay" I said as I walked in "wait right here"she said as she ran to her room to grab her backpacks "okay I'm ready" she said as she ran back "okay let's go" I said walking out the door "I just got my license I can drive us" she said "you got your lives!?" I asked "well my permit, but no one would know" she laughed "oh my god max!" I smiled "but it's okay let's go" I laughed and she smiled back. Once we got to school we walked into 1st period (gym) "ugh I hate gym, we should have stopped to get Starbucks" I said she stopped and looked at me then smiled "why don't we" she said as she grabbed my hand as we ran to the car "they wouldn't mind if we missed first period" we laughed as we drove. "Hi, how can I help you?" "Um can I get a dragon fruit refresher and um"-what do you want?" Max whispered "um a Caramel frappuccino" I whispered back "and a Caramel Frappuccino please" she said

"okay that will be 9.99 and the window" he said as we drove to the next window, we got our drinks and left. Once I got home aunt Violet was waiting for me at the front door "come on get in the car" she said "what, why?" I asked concerned "just get in" she said as I got in "we need to talk about what we are going to do with your dad" she said "okay" I mumbled I was scared to death but she couldn't know. "I was thinking of killing him peacefully, you know what I already know what I'm going to do and it won't be peaceful" she said i looked at her then I told her to drop me off at Max's house. I ran to the front door banging on it non stop "please max open the door!" I cried as I bagend on the door "please max please, before someone gets hurt!" I cried Kicking on the door until someone opened it I couldn't believe my eyes it was Violet

"what are you doing In max's house, what did you do to her?" I cried as I kicked her "I can't believe you would go crying to her after you told me you wouldn't tell anyone, how dare you!" She screamed "I'M NOT GOING TO ASK YOU AGAIN, WHERE IS MAX!!"I cried "oh she's long gone" she laughed hysterically"I should have listened to my dad I knew you were a psychopath!" I cried then looked back and ran as fast as I could home. I ran and ran. I finally made it to my house. I ran inside in tears "HELP ME PLEASE SOMEONE HELP!!" I cried in tears Jazmin ran in "oh my god what's wrong!?" She asked, "where's mom and dad!?" I cried "there at work" she said she ran to me and hugged me "why are you crying!?" Asked Jazmin "jaz I need you to get mom and dad it's urgent please!. I cried "okay okay" she said as she ran to her phone and called them "mom dad get home now!" Cried jaz "why honey you're scaring us?" She said "just do it now!" She cried "okay, okay" they said then came home. They ran inside "what happened?" they asked if they looked to see my crying on the floor "Millie what's wrong!?" They asked "I'm so sorry dad" I said quietly "sorry for what? What did you do!?" He yelled as tears filled his eyes "I-I met.." "You met who?" He cut me off "Violet" I mumbled "Violet?!" He yelled and ran to me "who's Violet?" Asked Jazmin "yeah who's Violet?" Asked mom?" He turned to me "are you okay did she then ran ahurt you?!" He asked "no I'm fine but she hurt max" I said in tears "what!?" He screamed "how!" He asked "I don't know when I went to her house Violet was in her house and said she was gone" I cried "oh my" cried mom "are you okay" he asked one more time "no" I said in tears as I looked up at the ceiling then to the floor
