Minhos pov.

I arrived at the school earlier in order to meet with Chris. He always arrives earlier than everyone else since that is the only time he gets to be alone and carefree. I wanted to ask him about everything and why he agrees with Hyunjin forcing me to join the gang earlier than agreed.

I spotted Chris near the fences, with his headphones on and some papers in hand.

"Chris! I finally found you."

"Minho? What's up with you being here so early?" - he asked as he removed his headphones

"To be honest, I wanted to ask you something."

"Alright, go on." - he smiled

"Hyunjin told me you agreed on making me join the gang earlier, is that true?"

Chris sighed, "As much as I hate to admit, I did end up agreeing on it. I tried to talk Hyunjin out of it and even picked a fight with him but nothing makes him change his mind. After some thinking, I realized that in one hand he is right. It is dangerous for you to be outside of the gang. The other gangs are hunting for you since you are in a vulnerable state, meaning that, you are far away from SKZs grasp. Which makes you an easy target and weakness for us."

I couldn't believe my ears. People are trying hunting me down?

"Okay but why do I have to avoid Jisung afterwards? What is up with his no affair rule?"

Chris sighed to himself which was visible on his expression. "Love affairs cause us scandals and weakness. The students would go crazy, they'd do such gruesome things to our partners if we had any. As for the other gangs, they view it as our weakness and would hurt them until we give them what they want."

Realization hit me. It all made sense, but even so why did I feel like all of this was so unfair?

"I know what you are thinking Minho. It is all unfair is it not?"

"It is..." -I frowned

"I'm sure my story will comfort you once you hear it Minho."

"Changbin?" - said Chris surprised

This was my first interaction with Changbin, upon his scary looks his smile gives away the kindness in his heart.

"Fair and square!" -laughed Changbin

"How come you are here Changbin?" - asked Chris

"The house feels suffocating, it holds memories which I don't like to get reminded of. I assume the papers you're holding are for Minhos join request in the gang?"

"Sharp eye as always, Changbin." - giggled Chris as he tapped Changbins back

"There are papers for that?"

"Yes, you'll have to signature them tomorrow since that is when we'll have our first meeting all together after a while."

I sighed. This was all getting too much for me.

"Don't look so tense, it'll all go well. I know it seems scary and overwhelming in a way, but through time you'll get used to it." - said Changbin while looking at me, Chris just nodded

"You know, I used to have a girlfriend back in the day. Her name was Chaeryeong, we dated for about a year before an accident occurred which forced Hyunjin to ban dating. I was heartbroken for months, stubborn, didn't obey any of the rules nor did I attend any meetings they had after that. I was beyond furious, at myself mostly. I put all the blame onto myself, for losing two people in my life. My girlfriend and friend, Yeji. I wanted to fight for love, I wanted to spend my life with her but it wasn't possible. Fate wanted us apart and that is what happened. I still love her til this day though there is nothing I can do about it. So I completely understand what you are feeling right now. You feel rage, you want to fight your reality with the one your heart desires."

Hearing Changbins story made me tear up. Who would've thought a man who looks so strong was once so weak and went through all of that?

Flashback.

"Chaeryeong..."

"I heard the news Changbin. Is there really nothing we can do about it?"

"We can both try our best to fight it all. I don't want his stupid rules to separate us."

"But Changbin, don't you love your work? You always talked about how you enjoyed working with your friends and putting people in their place. I don't want to ruin that for you."

"Chaeryeong, it means nothing to me if I can't have you by my side."

"Your injury too." - her eyes filled up with tears "I think it's best that you obey the rules. I will always love you no matter what."

End of flashback.

"I'm so sorry Changbin for all that has happened. You didn't deserve it, none of you did."

"It's alright kiddo. It's all in the past." - said Changbin as he patted my back

But who heard their conversation...?
