As night falls, Tae sits in the living room, anxiously watching the door.
When kook finally enters, he freezes and is surprised to see Tae waiting up for him.
Tae: "Welcome home! Why don't you go freshen up? I'll heat up food", smiling.
As Tae heads to the kitchen, kook stands rooted to the spot, a strange warmth spreading through his chest.
Kook: "This is the first... someone waiting for me." whispered to himself.
Moments later, kook joins Tae at the dining table. Tae immediately begins serving him, his movements graceful and attentive.
Kook: "Have you eaten?", asked coldly.
Tae: "No".
Kook: "Why", asked confused.
Tae: "I was waiting for you so we could eat together," replied with his boxy smile.
Kook's heart skips a beat, thousands of butterflies dancing in his stomach. A soft smile forming on his face.
Tae: "Come on, let's eat before it gets cold." said gently.
As they eat, conversation flows surprisingly easily. Kook finds himself opening up, laughing softly at Tae's jokes. It's a new experience for him – talking and smiling freely.
Later, as they settle into bed, kook lies awake, hyper-aware of Tae's presence beside him. His mind races.
Kook: : 'I want to hug him... but how do I ask', thinking
Suddenly tae wraps an arm around kook's waist, pulling him close. Kook's breath catches as tae back hugged him tightly.
Kook: "This man knows how to make my heart beat fast". thought to himself.
Tae: "Good night", murmured
Kook: "Hmm". blushed. He's glad the darkness hides his blush
After a few minutes, tae's soft snores are heard.
Kook carefully turns in Taehyung's arms, studying his peaceful sleeping face in the dim light. Unable to resist, he reaches out, fingers lightly tracing Tae's cheek.
Kook leans in and pressed a feather-light kiss on Tae's forehead.
Kook: "Good night my baby", whispered softly.
Kook snuggled closer against his Tae's chest. As sleep claims him, a contented smile plays on his lips.
