The Univengers: Reign of Doom

Chapter 11: A Moving Melodrama

Harry was the first to wake up at 9:50 a.m. He wasn't that good of a sleeper. Banner was next, then Letty, Peter, and E.T. lastly. Harry was very hungry so he walked down to Wimpy's nearby. The rest of the group followed suit. They sat down at a table that had about a dozen burgers piled up on a large plate. Letty called Optimus on her walkie-talkie.

"Optimus, how are we doing?", she asked.

"So far, so good," responded Optimus. Dudley Do-Right, the Mountie from earlier, rode up to Wimpy's on his horse. This time a lady was sitting behind him named Nell Fenwick. She had orange hair tied into a braid by a blue ribbon and a roundish dress of the same color.

"Good morning! You look familiar," greeted Dudley.

"It's Dudley Do-Right, isn't it?", asked Banner.

"Good answer, sir!", said the Mountie.

"Hey, were you able to catch Snidely Whiplash?", said Letty.

"Oh, yes," said Dudley. "I threw him in jail. Hopefully, he won't escape again." Dudley's horse, Horse, put his left hoove over his face in embarrassment.

"If you'll excuse us, we need to reward ourselves with sustenance," said Dudley. The three Canadians went into the queue for Wimpy's. Kaboom! An explosion from the Canada area rang all the way to Sweet Haven. Popeye came running out from the Olive Seaside Hotel.

"Dibs on being first responder!", he said. Horse came scrambling out of Wimpy's with Dudley and Nell.

"You can't respond to an explosion," Dudley said, responding to Popeye. "Do speak Kaboom?" He took Nell off of Horse and placed her on the ground.

"Stay here, Nellie," he said. "This is no situation for Damsels." Dudley and Horse rode off into Canada.

"Hm. There's a reason I like his horse better," Nell said to the Univengers.

"Wait a minute," said Banner. "That explosion could be Doom trying to get our attention."

"They could have the AllSpark," pondered Letty. "Let's get to Optimus and the uni-jet. We need a plan." They stopped eating their burgers and Harry left a Gringotts sickle on the table as a tip. The group ran to Optimus and the uni-jet. Banner told Optimus about his and Letty's theories.

"Doom broke into Cyberdyne and stole their T-800," said Peter. "I think he has or is going to put the AllSpark in that robot."

"We went to the desert to keep the AllSpark away from threatening forces," said Optimus. "It is in malicious hands now. We have to take it back before carnage ensues." With some experience from Von Doom, the Univengers knew that the stakes were high.

"Doom's distracted us before and that was a bit of a fiasco for us," said Harry. "If we try to distract him, it could blow up in our faces."

"I don't think we have any other choice," said Letty. There were two seconds of silence.

Optimus spoke, "Then so be it."

"If we're going to distract Doom, I'll be the distractor," said Letty. "And if I get taken, don't come back for me."

"No, I'll do it," said Peter.

"We can't just waste time arguing about who's going to be the martyr," said Letty. "The world needs you all. I'm the only person in this group with no fantastic powers."

"Letty," said Optimus. "You shouldn't put yourself down like that. You don't need extraordinary powers to do extraordinary things. You've helped save so many lives."

"I'm about to save more," said Letty. "Let me do it, please." No one spoke to disagree.

"Alright," said Harry. The group discussed their plan quickly, then they got into the uni-jet.
