The Doombots flew almost like lightning past Optimus. One of them shined bright lights from its arms to blind the Autobot. He tried to throw some punches at the Doombot, but all he could see was white. As for Spider-Man, he web-grabbed onto a flying Doombot. He tried to pull it back but it turned around and began shooting at him. The bullets flew an inch away from Spider-Man's head thanks to his Spider-Senses. The web-slinger booked it to the other side of the uni-jet for cover. Banner was also running to the other side but he grabbed one of his needles out of his pocket. Before he could prick his finger, a Doombot landed in front of him and sprayed some gas from above its hands. It came out quickly and Banner collapsed. Letty was nearby and saw Banner collapse. She felt an incredible rage and charged toward the Doombot while firing her pistol. The Doombot was quick though and it fired a blue laser from above its right arm. The laser hit Letty's gun, shattering it in a second. Her hands had some burns from the explosion and the force made her fall backward. The Doombot grabbed her hair and yanked her up to gas her. She tried to fight back but she lost consciousness. Optimus was able to grab the Doombot that kept blinding him by its legs and threw it down to the ground. Then, the Autobot stepped on the Doombot like a bug and rubbed it into the ground so it wouldn't escape. As for the Doombot that gassed Letty, it carried her in its arms as it flew back into the woods. Harry and E.T. ran out of the uni-jet and saw Letty being carried away.
"Oh no," muttered Harry. He pointed his wand to the interior of the vehicle and said, "Accio Firebolt". The Firebolt broomstick flew out of its resting place on the wall to the left side behind the captain's cabin and straight to Harry's left hand. He and E.T. mounted themselves on the broomstick and lifted off to follow that Doombot. Spider-Man leaped up to the top of the uni-jet and saw what was going on. He web-grabbed the broom part of the Firebolt and went for a ride to help save Letty. Suddenly, his spider-senses went off again. A spinning circular saw blade in a green orb came flying toward the Firebolt.
"Jump now!", screamed Spider-Man. Harry and E.T. saw the saw blade coming towards them for a split second and jumped off the broomstick. The three of them fell 23 feet towards the ground until Harry cast Arresto Momentum and they slowed to a stop half a foot above the ground for a second and landed. They got up and saw that the flying saw blade was being controlled by Von Doom who used a green laser to hold it up in the air. The saw blade came back to him and he caught it like a boomerang. Harry noticed his Firebolt broomstick lying on the ground, cut in half.
"It's time you get your head out of the clouds, Potter," Von Doom taunted as he and the rest of his group hurried into the woods. Harry's blood started to boil towards Von Doom, kidnapping one of his friends and destroying a gift from his late godfather. Optimus saw Doom's group getting away.
"I'll follow them," he said as he transformed into his truck form. "Get in the jet and do the same." The Autobot drove into the woods.
"Where's Banner?", asked Spider-Man.
"I think he's by the front," said Harry as he and E.T. ran inside the uni-jet to start it up. The web-slinger hurried over to find Banner's unconscious body. He picked him up and held him over his shoulder as he scrambled into the uni-jet. As soon as they got in, the ramp closed and the jet started to lift. Optimus was driving through the woods and he could see Von Doom's group far away, getting closer to their transport. Once they got to their location, the Doombots went into the aircraft along with the unconscious Letty. Doctor Doom turned to Storm before they got in.
"Prime is coming. Hold him back." Storm obeyed and she put out her hands to make a slow push motion. The wind started to pick up and Optimus started to struggle against it. Storm then pointed her fingers at the trees and lightning struck them. They began to crash down to block Optimus from getting to the aircraft.
"Excellent," complimented Von Doom. "Now set this forest ablaze." Storm was taken aback by this request.
"But, sir, there could be other people here," she said.
"Don't disobey me," Von Doom hissed. Storm had seen her master torment and kill people that she saw as innocent. She had been forced to hurt people but igniting a whole forest with possible civilians was the breaking point.
"No!", said Storm. "This is enough." Von Doom grabbed her by the neck and threw her into the aircraft.
"Useless," the doctor muttered. He began to shoot green lightning from his hands towards the trees. They began to ignite. As Von Doom moved his hands to the left and right, the fire started to spread. Von Doom went back in the aircraft and it started to lift. Optimus had to retreat from the spreading fire. Rocky, Bullwinkle, Dudley, Horse, and Popeye saw the fire and ran back to the Main Street area.
"Abandon ship!", yelled Popeye. In the uni-jet, Harry and Peter Parker sat in the captain's cabin. Peter kept his Spider-Man suit on but took his mask off. E.T. and Banner were sitting on the benches in the back with their seat belts buckled. The alien couldn't wake Banner up because he wasn't knocked out by an injury. E.T. buckled him in.
"I see them," said Harry as the uni-jet floated out of the woods.
"We can't shoot it down. Letty might be in there," said Peter. Before they could decide what to do, they heard what sounded like something being launched.
"Veer right!", said Peter. Harry did and a missile from Doom's aircraft narrowly missed the uni-jet. The aircraft started to fly towards the uni-jet. Harry turned the jet to face the other way. Peter pressed the button that turned on the sensors. The screen on the dashboard showed a bird's eye view of a yellow outline of the uni-jet against a black background. The right side of the outline started to flash orange and a beeping sound was heard. Harry yanked the aircraft to the left and another missile passed by them. They had to get away from this aircraft. Suddenly, both sides of the outline flashed orange and the unnerving beeping became louder. Harry tried to take the uni-jet into a sideways position but the left wing was struck by one of the missiles. The left turbine burst into flames. The uni-jet started to tip towards the left but Harry struggled to keep it straight. They were heading towards the water.
"Hold on!", yelled Harry. "Brace yourselves!" Harry pulled up on the steering wheel. Crash! The uni-jet hit the surface and it violently moved across it. As the jet slowed down to a stop on the water, it began to lower down. Harry and Peter got out of the captain's cabin. Peter put his Spider-Man mask on and unbuckled the unconscious Banner to carry him on his shoulder. Before Harry could untie the coffin with his wand, the windows from the captain's cabin started to break. The water was rising faster and two grayish-purple tentacles sprang into the uni-jet. They grabbed Harry and Spider-Man. Banner's body fell off of Spidey's shoulders. The entire uni-jet was now underwater and being attacked by a territorial octopus with angry, yellow eyes.

Harry pointed his wand at the tentacle that grabbed him and cast Rictusempra

Harry pointed his wand at the tentacle that grabbed him and cast Rictusempra. This only frustrated the creature and it shook the uni-jet violently. As Harry was being shaken, he lost his grip on his wand. On Toon Lagoon, the citizens heard the commotion in the sky and watched as the uni-jet got hit by Doom's missile. Most of them went over to the waterfront to see where the uni-jet had crashed. It was about a mile away from the shore. Woody and Popeye pushed to the front and saw the top of the uni-jet sink into the water.
"Oh no!", worried Woody. "They're in Squeezy's spot!" He reached into his right fuzzy pocket to pull out a can of spinach. The can was dark green except for the label which was yellow and had the word, "SPINACH" written on it. Woody tore off the lid.
"Popeye, eat this!" he said as he hopped on the sailor's shoulders, pulled his nose back to open his mouth, and dumped the spinach in there. Woody hopped off as both of Popeye's arms inflated rapidly.
"Propell me!", the sailor instructed the woodpecker as he jumped into the water.
"Geronimo!", yelled Woody as he plunged in after Popeye. The woodpecker pushed Popeye from his back and he used his quick feet so they could both zoom towards Squeezy the octopus. Popeye began to spin his left arm, ready to strike Squeezy. The octopus heard the jet-like sound of them charging and turned only to get socked in the right eye. The blow made Squeezy let go of the uni-jet and sent him flying back until he was out of sight. Woody swam into the submerged aircraft followed by Popeye. E.T. picked up Harry's wand on the floor and tossed it to the wizard. The group was surprised to see Woody and Popeye there and the duo were surprised to see Spider-Man there. The woodpecker noticed that the web-slinger was holding an unconscious Banner. Woody swam over to Spidey and pointed to Banner and then pointed his finger up to the surface. Spidey handed the scientist over to Woody and he hugged onto Banner like a football as he hurried up to the surface. Spider-Man put on his backpack. Harry pointed his wand at the rope holding the coffin and cast Reducto. The rope bursted into little pieces and the coffin was free. Thanks to Woody's speed, Banner was brought to a tiny beach to the left of the waterfront in about five seconds. After laying Banner down on his back, Woody realised that he breathed in a ton of water. He began to hop on Banner's chest, his version of CPR.
"Wake up, Doc!" Banner spat out a quick fountain and gasped. Woody hopped back on the ground.
"He lives!", he cheered. Banner sat up, confused.
"Woody?", he said.
"There's no time to explain," Woody said as he jumped back into the water. Harry and E.T. were trying to swim up to the surface while levitating the coffin up with them. Popeye and Spider-Man were helping carry it up. They got to the surface with the coffin and gasped for air. Woody arrived and rapidly pushed the coffin back to land.
"Come on," the sailor said to Spidey, Harry, and E.T. "We ain't sea algae." While they started swimming towards land, Woody came back and wrapped his arm around E.T. to bring him to shore.
"I gotta ask," Spider-Man said to Popeye. "What's your fitness secret?"
"Spinach."
"Can't argue with that." Woody came back and took Harry to shore, then Spidey, and Popeye lastly. Everyone, including the coffin, was sitting on the tiny beach to the left of the waterfront.
"Is everyone okay?", Woody asked. They gave exhausted nods.
"Thank you," said Harry.
"It was nothing," said Woody. "Wait a minute, where's Letty and Peter?"
"Doom took Letty," informed Spider-Man. "Peter's...in the hotel, he's fine."
"Uh...you all need transport," Woody said. "I'll get my friend, Beetle Bailey. I'll meet you at the waterfront." Woody ran off into the main street.
"Why am I soaked?", asked Banner. "Can someone please tell me what I missed?" The Univengers' uni-jet was now gone and their friend had been kidnapped. Will they be able to save her or is the triumph of Doctor Doom at hand? Find out in the next chapter, "The New Univengers" or "The Calm Before The Storm".
