Unspoken Words (Part 2 to Drunk Mistakes (on yt))

Part 6

Lloyd walked round the corner and into the schoolyard and instantly felt all eyes on him.

He was used to being stared at, but he had to get used to it all over again after he'd revealed he was the green ninja because people started looking at him differently.

And now, they were again, looking at him differently. The whispering accompanying their stares sent shivers down Lloyd's spine, it was far too similar to his past life.

Some people still waved and said hi, and Lloyd just tried to focus on them, waving back and giving a fist bump or two, pretending he didn't notice the murmur around him.

He pushed open the doors and felt more stares. He gave a hesitant look backward, almost considering running away from the attention just like he had that morning, running away from fangirls at the bus stop.

Lloyd walked up to his friends, looking around at the people walking past and sitting beside lockers.

"Hey guys," Lloyd said with a small smile. They looked up from their phones in surprise.

"Lloyd? You-- You're at school?" Nya asked him, shocked. Lloyd gave a confused face.

"Uh... Should I... not be at school...?" Lloyd looked around at his friends who shared concerned glances. "Is that why people have been giving me weird looks?" Lloyd looked back at a group of girls who all instantly pretended like they weren't whispering behind him.

"You still don't check social media, huh?" Cole sighed.

"Well, I mean, Kai loves talking about social media drama, so I've kind of gotten used to hearing everything from him," Lloyd rubbed the back of his neck, feeling awkward from saying Kai's name. Jay laughed uneasily before coughing it away when Nya looked at him with an unimpressed expression.

"Ok, well, uh..." Cole paused, thinking about how to tell Lloyd the news.

"What? What is it?" Lloyd prompted. The others all averted their gazes, other than Zane, who still struggled with social cues.

"Someone posted--" Zane started explaining but Cole covered his mouth.

"SHHH!! Let-- We'll just show him..." Cole said hesitantly. Nya shakily handed Lloyd her phone and he took it with a concerned glance at his friends.

He saw on the screen a Twitter post with another tagged post underneath it. The tagged post was from a random girl, and it had a short clip captioned, "We LITERALLY told her so! 🙄". The clip was of some girl telling the camera girl that she felt sick from the 10 drinks she had had, and all of her friends erupted in a collective "We TOLD you so!!".

Lloyd gave an uncertain glance up at his friends who were all watching him closely.

The reply to the post contained at first glance the same clip but captioned with, "OMFGG WHAT IS THAT IN THE BG??? 🫣🫣".

Lloyd caught his breath as the clip auto-played.

The clip started out the same until a giant red circle showed up around two people in the background. He and Kai.

He and Kai were very obviously kissing, and as the clip continued, it showed Kai picking up Lloyd and walking off-screen.

Lloyd felt like he was going to be sick.

"That's how it started, but I'm sure you already know that it's only gotten bigger and worse since that post..." Nya said cautiously, slowly taking her phone back.

"I heard someone say that Good Morning Ninjago is going to mention it at the eleven o'clock session," Jay thought aloud. Cole raised his eyebrows.

"Seriously? Oh god," He glanced nervously at Lloyd, but he was still in the same position looking down at his empty hand as if he were frozen.

He gulped, feeling his eyes start to sting. He scrunched his hand into a fist and stuffed both of his hands into his pockets.

"I suppose that's why Kai's not a school..." Lloyd mumbled to himself. The ninja shared worried looks.

"Hey, Lloyd!" A voice followed the sounds of the doors crashing open. Lloyd winced, knowing exactly what was about to happen. It was Chad and his gang. He turned around.

"Hey..." He half-heartedly replied.

Chad came over with a huge grin on his face.

"Look, I'm gonna get straight to the point, I speak for all of us--" He gestured behind him through the doors. "--when I ask you," He stopped in front of Lloyd, building up tension he knew he was creating from the silence that had fallen onto the hall. Lloyd was suddenly aware of the 12 different phone cameras pointed in his direction. "Is it true that you and Kai fucked at the party?" He had a smug look on his face like he already knew he was right. Lloyd held his breath, afraid to say anything, but he knew his bright red face spoke for him. His friends burst into laughter and Chad grinned with victory.

"Shove off, Chad," Cole scowled, walking up behind Lloyd.

"Before I twist your arm clean off..." Nya continued, cracking her fingers and stepping towards Chad. He stepped back with a light expression.

"Chill, chill! It's all fun and games, it was bound to happen to someone from your group eventually," He waved off Nya, smirking when she started to shake with anger. Lloyd's mind was racing.

What does he mean by that...?

"I said, shove, off, Chad." Cole glowered. Chad rolled his eyes but led his posse away.
