Kai and Lloyd didn't mention anything about the party for three weeks, they instead listened to Nya's deal and pretended to go back to normal.

But the tension between them remained.

No inside jokes were shared, no playing pranks together, and no walking with each other.

Deep inside, both of their hearts were being crushed under the weight of the words they wanted to say.

"Kai!" Kai spun around at the mention of his name and saw a couple of girls running up to him.

Oh god, I can't deal with fangirls right now. Kai glanced back down the hall.

"No, don't go! We'll be quick!" One of the girls puffed as they stopped in front of Kai. Kai adjusted his bag strap.

"Fine, sure, what do you girls need?" Kai asked, trying to seem his usual self despite all of his racing thoughts.

The girls giggled and looked between each other.

"We just wanted to ask, since when have you been gay? Like, you've always flirted with girls, how come you screwed Lloyd at the party?" A girl to the left asked.

Kai stiffened at the mention of the incident. He hated how everyone treated it so casually.

"I-- Uhm..." Kai rubbed the back of his neck.

"Sorry, we didn't want to make you feel uncomfortable," One of the girls quickly spoke up. "We were only curious because, well, everyone was at the party, you had so much choice, and you chose Lloyd?" She was trying to say it lightly, but it only made Kai angrier. He stood straighter.

"What happened at the party between Lloyd and I is none of your business!" Kai snapped. All the girls took a step back and glanced at each other. Kai noticed everyone in the hall now staring at him. "It's none of anyone's business!! Just leave us alone about it, ok!?" This time Kai shouted to the entire hall. Whispers and murmurs crept up from the silence and Kai could hear the sounds of video recordings being stopped.

Kai half-sighed half-groaned and swiftly turned around and continued going down the hall, not looking at anyone.

Only once he had turned the corner into the bathroom-storage room hallway did he let go of his breath and slow down.

"Psst," A whisper came from behind the vending machine. Kai looked and found Nya peering around the edge. She gave him a grin and waved him over.

"What was so urgent that you called me out of my guitar lesson?" Kai walked up to her and tapped his foot as he waited for Nya to explain herself.

"Just wait, you'll see, get in there," Nya gestured to the door next to her. It was one of the bigger storage rooms. Kai gave her a sceptical look but went into the room.

It was dusty and dark, Kai tried the light switch and only two of the lights flickered on, highlighting the crusted-over boxes and buckets of all things school supplies; sports equipment, books, stationary, cleaning supplies, toilet paper, normal paper, etc etc.

There were deep, metal shelves lining the walls, the floor was clearly coated in a layer of some sort of grime, and the high ceiling was spotted with fly poop. There would've been enough room for it to be a small bedroom, but the miscellaneous piles of clutter reduced the floor space significantly.

"You weren't supposed to be at school today, right?" Kai turned around. Nya was leaning against the doorframe but kept glancing around the vending machine as if she were waiting for something.

Kai grew even more suspicious of her.

"Uh, yeah... I wasn't... Michael asked for any staff that was available today to come in because there was a guest today, and I said I would come but then we ended up having that English exam today..." Kai explained, switching his guitar case to his other shoulder.

"Mm..." Nya nodded slowly, looking slightly down in thought.

"Hey Nya, what's up?" A voice sounded from around the vending machine. Kai didn't need to see them to know who it was.

Lloyd.

Nya quickly walked out around the vending machine and grinned at Lloyd, still hidden.

"Hey! I wanted to show you something! Come around here!" Nya took Lloyd's arm and pulled him into the room.

Kai started panicking, he stepped back and accidentally nudged something causing it to fall. He gave a "what the hell!?" look at Nya but she only rolled her eyes with a smirk and let Lloyd trip up over his feet and fall into the room.

"Woah! Nya, what on earth!?" Lloyd laughed as he quickly picked himself up and turned around to face Nya, completely skimming over the room.

Nya held the door partly closed, with only her--

Three other heads looked around the door with Nya's.

"You two have until the end of school to sort things out," Zane started.

"Because otherwise, we're tying you together," Jay shrugged as if it was something normal.

"In front of your parents, Lloyd," Cole added.

Kai and Lloyd stood staring at them in disbelief.

"Good luck~" Nya winked and the four of them closed the door, looking more proud of themselves than ever.

Kai and Lloyd stayed frozen for a few seconds before Lloyd shook his head with a half-hearted laugh.

"Hahaha guys, very funny, what the hell are you doing!?" Lloyd went for the door handle but a click made him stop. "Uh-- Did you guys just lock the door!?" Lloyd heard laughing from the other side. "Ok, seriously guys, what even--" Lloyd rattled the handle and pushed on the door.

"Don't worry, we'll tell the teachers you had more important stuff to do," Cole called through the door.

"And you, Kai, weren't meant to be here anyway, so the teachers will let it slide!" Nya added. Lloyd caught his breath. "We'll see you guys at 3:30!" And at that, the sound of their footsteps faded away.
