September 1st, 1995

I wake up to the sound of my alarm clock, and in the distance, a radio playing what seemed to be an upbeat song coming from the kitchen. Way different to waking up to the sound of screaming and heavy knocking.

Ever since Remus Lupin and Nymphadora Tonks took me and Harry into their home, I have been ever so grateful. The Dursleys didn't seem to care about anything else but their "real son," Dudley. Always blaming us for any minor inconvenience, and Lupin took notice of this when we would visit him and Sirius Black during the summer.

It was 6:00 a.m., September 1st, meaning we needed to be at the train station, specifically the 9 3/4 platform in 2 hours. It was the start of my and Harry's fifth year at Hogwarts, and I didn't get much sleep the night before, having been packing some last minute things for the upcoming school year, so it was difficult getting up for the day.

I stumbled to the bathroom, and took a shower before putting on some concealer to hide my dark under eyes from getting like a good 4 hours of sleep. I then continued to get ready for the day, brushing my teeth, and then putting on some light blush and mascara.
I decided on wearing a dark hoodie and jean shorts, considering it would be a little chilly on the train, and then headed downstairs.

"Morning, Lorelai!" Remus said to me cheerfully as he continued to make breakfast. How he could be this awake at 7:00 am, I had no idea.

"Good morning, what are you making?" I asked curiously, because it smelled amazing.

"Pancakes, you want some?"
I laughed as I said, "Obviously."

Tonks came into the kitchen about the same time as Harry, looking like he just woke up as well. "Aw well dont you look like a dear," I said, as Harry looked clearly exhausted as I was. He flipped me off and smirked, sitting down at the table.

"Shut up Lo, you kept me up with your packing. Also you have horrible music taste."

He said this because I was blasting music last night whilst packing, and I took quick offense to that. I had recently became obsessed with ABBA, a band from the 70s, and have been listening to it nonstop.

"Yeah? Maybe you're the one with trash music taste if you don't like ABBA," I snapped back with a giggle, because I knew we would be arguing for some time. As our bickering continued, Tonks looked over at me and winked, joining into the conversation.

"Yeah, Harry, what do you have against one of the greatest bands of all time?"

As Harry looked between me and Tonks, he must have thought he couldn't beat us one against two, because he just smiled and rolled his eyes. "Guys, we have to get going if we want to catch the train," Remus called out to us as he grabbed his bag.

Me and Harry got up out of our seats and walked towards Remus, while Tonks followed close behind.

We all apparated to the train station, and since I was still getting used to the sensation of it, I  was pretty lightheaded. I only just started apparating with Remus the previous summer, when we would go to the burrow. He would go to the ministry meetings, while me and Harry would go spend time with the rest of the Weasleys. Me and Ginny became pretty close that summer, not that we weren't friends before, but we created a stronger bond over the past couple of months.
