The month of October was exactly as it sounded. Orange-colored leaves, piles of homework, and complicated feelings.

Ever since Neville gave me his jumper, I've been feeling different, like something changed. But the thing is, I don't know what I feel.I just know it feels different.

Me and Neville have continued to study, him helping me with herbology and me helping him with potions. Though, one of the sessions stuck with me.

"So, in order to take care of Asphodels, you have to keep it in a drained-type soil in the sun," Neville explains to me, pointing at the textbook we have open.

I nod, showing him I'm listening, causing him to continue.

"And then the Gillyweed is—" someone cuts him off by tapping on his shoulder.

We both look towards the person, whom being Ava Greenland, a ravenclaw.

"Hey, I couldn't help but notice your knowledge for Herbology, and was wondering if could you help me with my Herbology homework? I just don't understand a question." She asks.

"Yeah, sure! Just let me finish this up real quick." Neville replies.

"Okay, thanks Nev!"

Why did she call him that?

What is going on with me??

As Neville finished explaining the plants we needed to know about for the upcoming quiz, he starts to get up.

"You don't mind if I help her, right? I mean, I think you're doing really good at the moment." He tells me.

"Yeah, thanks, I'm good, thank you!" I wave him off, hiding my unexplanatory jealousy, and walk out of the library. I look back, to see Neville sit down next to Ava. I look at Ava, to see her looking back at me, smirking.

Why was she looking at me like that?

It must have all been in my head.

She turns back with a small blush on her face, shooting me a wave of annoyance, and I don't know why. I walk out of there as fast as I can, and don't stop until I make it to the common room.

As per-usual, I came back to my dorm with packets of homework from each class. I decide to start on potions.

As I'm working, I stop, deciding to light a candle. I find I always work best with a good environment surrounding me, and good smells. I recently got a new one from hogsmeade, smelling like mahogany and vanilla, and light it using my wand.

I stand before it for a little while, letting the scent travel up my nose. Then, I turn to my radio, turning it on to the muggle station.

I recognize this song, I think to myself as I turn up the volume a little bit. I should be doing my homework, I know, but a little break wouldn't hurt.

Until it did. Before I knew it, hours had gone by, with me listening to music, and blowing out and relighting my candle. Who knew I could be so entertained by such little things?
