December 20th, 1995

As the cold winter days pass me by, it's hard to believe that today we leave for Christmas break.

Although some students stay for the holidays, me and Harry go back home, getting the fortunate opportunity to reunite with our parents.

As I have talked with my friends, I realize that Neville is also going home for the holidays, visiting his parents with his gran. Luna decided to stay, as she will be accompanying some of the other students staying as well.

Since we go to the burrow during the holiday, I have been talking to Ron about what the plan is for this Christmas. He tells me not much, just the same old. Baking cookies (that we lick the batter out of), opening presents together, being gifted Molly's amazing sweaters, and Christmas dinner.

So, I have been using up the past couple of days to pack for our leave. I don't want to pack too much, knowing we won't be gone for more than two weeks. I stick with some books, lots of comfy pajamas, and nice clothing attire for Christmas dinners, plus extra things I used on the daily.

Right now, as I'm doing this, I am with Ginny and Hermione, who have also been occupying their time with this.

"I'm going to miss you guys so much!" I exclaim, becoming awfully emotional.

"Lo, you know you're seeing me, like, 2 days after we leave, right?" Ginny asks with a smile.

"I know...but still!"

Hermione and Ginny look at each other and laugh, with me joining in on them.

I walk over to our wardrobe, looking through my clothes once more, until I see something that catches my eye.

Neville's jumper.

It wouldn't hurt to take it, right? It can get chilly in our house, and this would help.
Before I let the bickering in my mind continue, I grab his jumper and shove it into my suitcase.

A smile lingers on my face as I continue to pack, trying to keep it as light as possible with my things.

Knock knock knock.

I give the girls a confused look as I head to the door, wondering who's knocking.

Opening the door, I am met with a familiar face.

"Nev! What's up?" I ask, with a little excitement in my tone.

He seemed to be holding a plant in his hand, potted in a gorgeous dark green pot. In it, was my favorite flowers, lavender.

"I-I just wanted to bring you these," he says, handing me the flowers.

I take them with much appreciation, as I look up at him with admiring eyes.

"Thank you so much! These are my favorite," I say, the smile before creeping back.

"I know, that's why I grew them...to give to you," he says, trailing off as he looks at me.

I look at him once again. "You grew these for me?" I feel a small blush on my face.

Neville must have noticed my face, because he smiles and looks down. "Y-yeah, I mean...I know you like them, and it's almost Christmas. If I gave them to you after break, they would be alread—" I interrupt him, pulling him into a hug.

He relaxes into the hug, pulling me closer. It felt like hours we were just hugging, until I remembered Ginny and Hermione were there.

We pull away, looking over at the girls. They are both looking at me, but quickly turn their heads as they continue to pack, trying not to giggle amongst themselves.
