Luke's POV

It's been two months since I've talked to Dylan, a real conversation at least. She looked great with the blue hair, but Michael wasn't too happy that she was dyeing her hair. He claimed it was his thing. It's half the worlds thing. More than half.

My phone began ringing, and I answered quickly, Anna already in bed. "Hello?" I answer. "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" Five voices shout in the speaker. I grinned, leaning back on the couch. "Thanks guys." "How was your day? Aaron is giving me an hour to talk to you because of it. His present to you." Dylan laughs. "It was good. Our show went great, the crowd sung me happy birthday, the guys bought me a cake, Anna made me a really cute card, how was your flight?" "So long. I was next to a window at least and Aaron was asleep for most of the flight so I didn't have to talk to anyone and I could listen to music and write. I got another song done." "What's it called?" I ask, knowing that's all she'd tell me. "Ghost." "Sounds interesting." "It's a new sound. I'm excited." "Good. I like your hair, I kept forgetting to tell you on our five second calls."

She laughed again. "Thank you, how's everyone doing?" "Ashton's twenty four, I'm twenty two." "So old." I joke. "You're lucky you're cute." I joke back. "So I've been told. Hold on." It goes silent and I sit there patiently. "Sorry, had to take a picture with a fan, I'm getting in the car now though so I'm all yours." "Heading to the studio?" "More like the store. There's no food at your place." "Surprise surprise. No ones lived in it for months." "Yeah, and I was hit by like a heat wave walking in. It's been so hot here, it was like walking through the desert." "Drama queen." "You love me." "Yeah." I smile.

"I'm thinking of getting sushi but I'm also wanting pizza, what should I get?" "Pizza." "But I had pizza in Italy like three days ago." "Then get sushi!" I laugh. "Fine. Guess what!" "What?" "I got a really cute dress for your brothers wedding." "Good. I'm having a fitting when I'm in Australia for the tour." "That's like a month before the wedding though." "But with guys clothes it's easy." I point out. "True. I just need to get shoes so I'm going to see if Taylor will lend me a pair she wore on the red carpet about a year ago." "Purple ones?" "Yup. My dress is the same color as the bottom of the dress she had worn with those shoes so I just thought to wear her shoes."

"Nice. Speaking of Taylor, how are her and Blake?" "Good, haven't talked to either of them in a while but they seemed good when I talked to them." "That's good." "Yeah, how's Anna?" "Growing so fast, Ashton had a meltdown earlier about her growing up too fast. He sounded like a mom." I laugh, earning a glare from him. "That's cute, what about him and Alyssa?" "Still only texting." "Dang. Will he ever get back together with her?" "Maybe." "Stop talking about me." Ashton says, Dylan laughing quietly.

"I'm heading into the store and Aaron wants his phone back so I'll talk to you soon, I'll try and stop for a phone when the place is open." "Alright, love you." "Love you too." "Have a good birthday if we don't talk by then." "I will." She says, sounding sad. "I really wish I could be there." "I know, but you have a job that you have to be at." "Yeah." I say softly. "I'll let you go." I say. "Okay, talk to you soon, Luke." We hang up and I put my phone on the table in the bus, heading to our last European stop.

"How was Dylan?" Ashton asks. "Good. In Los Angeles and getting food." "Fun. I'm heading to bed so happy birthday, I'll see you in the morning." I nod, watching him walk off. It was 3 in the morning and I was officially twenty two, but it just wasn't the same without Dylan here to celebrate.

Dylan's POV

I looked at the phones, choosing between the 7 and 6s. "Choosing a new phone?" A worker asks. "Yeah, I'm going to go with the iPhone 6s." I nod, following him to a counter. I pull out my old phone, letting him transfer everything. "Alright, so, I got everything in the iCloud transferred, so that's the good news, but your contacts were not in the iCloud." He says with a frown. Dammit. "Okay, can you do anything?" I ask. "We could try and fix the screen to see if we can get to contacts, but then you wouldn't need the new phone." "I'm due for an upgrade and my phone wouldn't let me text or call anyone so I needed a new phone before I shattered the screen." I shrug. "Okay, we will fix the screen and try and retrieve the contacts, so can you come back in an hour?" "I can in two hours, would that be okay?" "That's fine, we have a bigger chance of having things figured out." "Thank you so much." I smile, heading out.
