I leave the nail salon, trying not to smudge my nails. I drive back to Luke's parents house, letting myself in. I grab a yogurt out of the fridge, Luke walking into the kitchen. "How do they look?" He asks, grabbing an apple. "Good. I haven't smudged them yet." I laugh, giving Luke the yogurt to open. He opens it, handing it back. I stir it around, taking a bite. "What time are we going to the church?" I ask, putting my yogurt down then pulling my hair up into a ponytail.
"I have to be there about twelve but you don't need to be there till about one thirty." Luke tells me, taking a bite of his apple. I just needed to do my hair and makeup then I would be ready. "I can come down with you, they could need some help." I shrug, finishing the yogurt. I head upstairs, doing my hair in loose curls then doing my makeup, doing a neutral smokey eye. I put on the new dress I bought instead of the teal one, a black and white geometric patterned dress.
I put on black heels, going back downstairs. "You look cute." Luke tells me, kissing the side of my head. "Thank you." I smile, giving him a once over. "You look pretty handsome yourself." I tell him, giving him a playful grin.
He drives us to the church, leading me in. "No, the tulle needs to be looser." I hear Celeste say, sounding like she was a little stressed. "Hey." Luke says, stopping. "Hey Luke. Jack is in his room. I'm not allowing him out here right now since I'm out here but tell him he can come out here in about five minutes if he needs. I should be changing. Hey Dylan." I give her a small wave, stepping out from behind Luke. "Do you need any help?" Luke asks, fixing a falling flower.
"Just, I don't know," she lets out a sigh, biting her lip. "Make sure everything is perfect?" Luke nods, giving her a smile. She goes off and Luke and I go around making sure nothing is out of line and that it all looks good. "Good on my side." I tell Luke, following him to the back. "Good. Same with mine. I'm going to go check on Jack, Celeste is just in there." Luke says, pointing to a closed door. He walks off and I knock, the door swinging open.
"Who is it?" I hear Celeste ask from further in the room, a small girl standing in front of me, her mouth wide open. "You're Dylan Ryan." "Hi sweetie." I say, letting myself in. "Oh, hey Dylan, that's Sarah, she's my niece, she's a big fan. I meant to mention that to you. How's everything looking?" "Fantastic." I turn to her, finding her in a beautiful mermaid dress. "Your dress is stunning, Celeste." "Thank you." She gives me a huge smile, one of her bridesmaids helping her with the veil.
"Do you need anything else?" I ask, crouching down next to Sarah. "No, but thank you for everything." "Not a problem." I turn to Sarah, giving her a smile. "I hear you're a fan." She nods, looking at me with wide eyes. "Would you like a picture?" I ask, pulling out my phone. We take a couple pictures then I get permission before posting them. "I'm going to go out and find a seat, are you sure you don't need anything else?" "Yes, thank you so much Dylan." "No problem. Good luck." I give her a smile before going out into the church, taking a seat on Jack's side. Calum, Michael and Ashton come in, coming over to sit with me.
The ceremony was beautiful and soon we are at the reception, dancing on the dance floor. Luke spins me around, pulling me close. "Hey." He says. "Hey." I laugh, looking up at him. "How'd you like the ceremony?" "It was beautiful. I love weddings so much, they're always so beautiful." I say, giving Luke a smile. "Makes me kind of want to start planning ours." I say, gauging his reaction.
"Really?" He asks, his eyes lighting up. I nod, laughing. "We're older, I'm completely legal in the US, it's starting to make more sense that we get married. We already pretty much do everything that married couples do. Why not just make it official?" "I love it. I love you!" Luke says, kissing my forehead. I smile, looking up at him. His bright blue eyes shine back at me and I bite my lip, thinking about marrying him.
----
"Where do we want to do the wedding?" I ask Luke, both of us sitting at the kitchen table at his parents house. "Like, Australia versus America?" "Yeah." I nod. "Well, either place someone would have to get a citizenship there." He points out. I nod, biting my lip. "How about we choose that later. Right now we can choose a date and tell people?" He nods, smiling. "I like that idea."
"What about June? It's not super hot yet if we do it in the US and if we do it in Australia it'd still be nice-ish." I offer, looking at Luke. He frowns, shaking his head. "It seems too cliché." "Luke, we're the biggest cliché in the world right now." I point out, chuckling with a shake of the head. "That's exactly why we can't do it then." "That's exactly why we have to do it then." He gives me a look and I sigh. "What month were you thinking then?" I ask, giving him a look. "July, right between our birthdays." "That takes away the fun of our birthdays though." I frown.
"August?" I think about it for a minute before nodding. "I like August, it's still nice out everywhere." I admit. "Now for a date." "Twenty-first." Luke says quickly. "Why the twenty-first?" I ask, looking up at him. "It's the day we had our first kiss." He says, scratching the back of his neck uncomfortably. "You remember the date?" He nods, giving me a small, uncomfortable smile. "That's so cute." I gush, grinning. "Yeah! Let's do the twenty-first!" I nod, Luke getting excited.
Liz walks in, giving us a smile as she goes over to the fridge. "What are you two up to today?" "Choosing a date for our wedding." Luke says, Liz immediately turning around. "What?" She asks, a wide smile growing on her face. "Andy!" She calls. Andy walks in a few minutes later, looking at all of us questioningly. "We are choosing- well, we chose a date for our wedding!" Luke says, grabbing my hand. "What date?" "August twenty-first, next year obviously." I say, Liz smiling. "Oh! I'm so excited for you two!" "Thank you." I smile, squeezing Luke's hand.
"We need to call her brothers and tell them we chose a date." "Oh yes! Go! Go!" I giggle at Liz, following Luke to his room and pulling out my phone. "Blake first?" I ask, looking up at Luke. He nods, wrapping his arms around me. It rings and we sit there waiting. "Hello?" He answers. "August twenty-first. Save the date." I reply, grinning. "What's August twenty-first?" "The day of our wedding." I answer, biting my lip. "You picked a date?" I can hear a smile through his words, making me happy. "Yup!" "I'm happy for you, Dyl. I will save the date now and make sure I'm back wherever the wedding is a week before to help out." "Thank you, Blake." I reply, smiling. "Of course. I gotta get back to work though so I'll call you later to discuss this some more." "Sounds good." I reply, hanging up after saying our goodbyes. We call my other brothers, all of whom were excited for us. Then we call Luke's brothers then his band then mine, then we call our closest friends.
"Tweet it out?" I ask, getting up and walking over to the cupboards. I grab a cup and fill it with water at the sink, looking over at Luke. "I don't think we should tweet out the date but I do think we should announce we are getting married next year." He admits, looking up at me. "Okay, yeah. That makes sense." I agree, pulling out my phone.
We tweet out the same tweet, people blowing up and pretty soon we are trending. Luke stands and walks over, pulling me in for a hug. "I love you." He says, kissing me softly. "I love you, too." I smile, leaning my head on his shoulder.
