Time passed by very slowly.

It has really only been an hour or so since he first emerged from the windowless building. Or whatever it has turned into now. He'd been trying to contact Qliphah. But to no avail; his calls had been ignored. The demon wouldn't show up even though he could still feel the contract binding them. That was an hour ago. Honestly, it feels much longer than that.

It could be the result of his brain going into overdrive, trying to discern and figure out what had caused all this. Or maybe it's just because he is severely exhausted, barely capable of stifling his yawn. Yet his feet won't stop bringing him to various places.

Most of these were places he frequented. Perhaps it was a subconscious way to refute his current predicament. However, he preferred to believe that it was simply him attempting to confirm whether he was still within the city's perimeter or not.

Some buildings have disappeared. The perfect example would be his guardian's apartment building. Where it once stood on the ground is now covered by a new building. In its place, there is a small elementary school.

His breath hitched, and his eyes widened as this revelation dawned on him. He had asked both children and teenagers about the name of the street. And all of their answers were always the same.

It took him a long time to regain his composure.

"Maybe they moved somewhere? The last time I saw them, those two brats were complaining about wanting to move somewhere with bigger bedrooms. So there's a possibility."

He attempted to persuade himself, and he was successful.

Not to mention, the fact that his choker is still functioning without issue only strengthens his conviction, that the SISTERs are still around, and Last Order is still safe and sound. His shoulder felt lighter after this thought occurred to him.

Though, it would have been nice if they had just informed him of this beforehand.

Other buildings remained the same, but with different surroundings. One of these was the mall. In fact, it underwent the most significant changes of all. While its interior was completely transformed, its exterior remained unchanged from its original form.

When he tried pushing his luck by going inside, hoping to stumble upon people that he might have recognized and ask them a few questions. But it seems like Lady Fortuna isn't on his side today, or ever, really, as he was only met with an even more disappointing yet confusing sight.

It was only now that he noticed that every single person in this building had a gun! Hell, even the kids were carrying them. And not just 9mms or smaller handguns; they were all strapped to the teeth! They were packing ARs, TECs, RPGs, and even guns that are still undergoing development. Who gave them those things anyway? Better yet, who in their right mind would allow this?

The albino grimaced at how much work must have been piling up for anyone currently in charge of the city. Anti-Skills and Judgment wouldn't be able to keep up unless they increased their numbers. Last time he checked, Anti-Skill had fewer than 2,000 agents. Judgement couldn't even go beyond 500…

He can only wonder how these guys managed to keep the city safe and secure with all of this potential crime hazard wandering around without being reprimanded, he imagines there are at least 50 or more reports coming in every day.

To make matters much, much worse, these fucking kids even had the guts to color their guns pink! What is this? Free Fire? Fuck that! No, wait, that’s salmon… But the point still stands!!

These types of rules can only be applied if all 12 members of the Board of Directors agree. Meaning, everyone is as deranged as he is. He can't work with those people. And now he's going to have to cure their derangement with his favourite disease! He calls it the "Bullet in Brain" disease…
