A Better Future

The next day I visited the financial advisor to go over the spending and finances of the kingdom. I really wanted to change the world if I could and make the medieval times more fair and changing the cleanliness of the times would be a huge improvement. I knew from history textbooks that the worst part of the medieval time or of any time in history was the medical knowledge of the times was pitiful and they would do weird things that would be worst than doing nothing. I would have to thing of a clever way to introduce cleanliness in and more advanced medical practices without being discredited as a woman. Another part of history that I would like to improve was slave labour and increased pay for the workers. Also it would be great if the bloody rich weren't getting more money doing nothing than a person working until they could no more. The system was unfair and if I could do something about it I would.

The advisor lead me through the kingdom's finances and I discovered that a large portion of the income was going towards new clothing for the princess and extravagant food for the Royal Court. These were things that I could do without to better the lives of the people running this massive castle. The advisor looked shock but agreed to increase the wages of the Royal Court workers and anyone associated with the kingdom that deserved a raise.

After that was taken care of I had sometime to wander through the castle grounds and talk to people that I assumed I was supposed to know as the previous princess.

I came to the edge of the small lake with its deep blue waters. I could see my reflection in it and again I began to wonder how and why I was magically transported to this place and time.

I thought of my life before, well yesterday. I had lived alone with my cat, Mickey and wondered if I would be missed if I was suddenly gone from my life back home. Sure they would wonder why I wasn't showing up to my dead end job selling car insurance and Mickey would make so much noise that he would definitely alert the neighbours that he hadn't been fed supper. My parents had passed and I didn't have any other immediate family. Maybe life will be different here now that I had people who looked up to me and had a greater purpose in life and could really make some change....

What happened to the girl before, Princess Tegan? We had the same name, same looks but what about our personalities and values? Did she enter into my old life as I did her life like in Freaky Friday?
