A visit to the Dungeons

After hearing about what they say about my future husband, I descended the spiral staircase leading to the dungeons. There was a musty smell that  grew worse and worse as I walked downwards. I was starting to feel bad about making Donald stay down here, but I still really didn't like him and as for all the talk about how Lief was such a cold murderous man, I still felt safer with him compared to with Donald...

I had been oblivious to the way Lief treated his men and the other people in my Kingdom because he was just usually a typical asshole around me. But now that I thought about it, the way that he interacted with others was very cold and demanding. What kind of man was I about to marry? It still made me feel sick to be thinking about marriage and having a husband. In the future I never even thought about getting married, especially to someone by force.

I had to hold back my tears and keep on my strong face while going to talk to Donald. I couldn't let him see how much of a mess I had become over the last week that King Lief had arrived.

"Well, well. Look who came to grace me with her presence." Donald sneered.

"I'm only here to laugh at what bullshit you have to say." I snapped back.

"Well I hear you are about to be married to the Northern King. I could have prevented this from happening and we could have kept the Kingdom of Anastasia out of his clutches." Donald boasted.

"And how would you have proposed to do that?" I questioned. "Even you wouldn't have been able to create an army bigger than his to keep the kingdom safe."

"Well if you would have married me, I would have gotten my brother's army of Lennon to join ours to defeat the Northern King!" He exclaimed with a lustful look on his pudgy face.

I stood by the bars of his cell with first a feeling of shock and then the disgust washed over me. "Eww no! I think I would prefer that asshole over you." I spewed.

Anger flashed over his face and with speed greater than I ever imagined he would have had, he leaped towards the bars and grabbed my dress, yanking me against the bars. He grabbed my throat with both of his giant sausage fingered hands and started to squeeze.

Shock hit me like a freight train, but the adrenaline kicked in allowing me to reach out and reach for his face. I aimed for his eyes and clawed and poked them until be started to yell out. With him in pain and slightly blinded he loosed his grip on me and I reached up to try to yank his hands off from around my neck. A long dagger was thrust beside me and pierced Donald in the chest making him let go and fall back in pain. I stood leaning against the bars to catch my breath before turning to look at the wielder of the sharp dagger.

A familiar bearded blond face with cold icy blue eyes look fiercely at the fallen man. Lief turned to look at me and a smug look formed on his face. "You would rather marry me than him, hey?" He chuckled.

I looked at him angrily. "Well I don't really have a choice, do I?" I cried.

"No! You're Mine!" Lief growled and strolled away from me, leaving me in a torn dress covered in sprayed blood with bruises forming around my neck.

I sunk down and landed on my ass and leaned back towards the rusty bars. The guard on duty now decided to return from his trip to the bathroom and was in shock at the sight of me when he saw it.

"Im ok, just get this mess cleaned up." I croaked. Then I walked past him to make my way back to my room to get cleaned up and hopefully sleep the rest of the day away.
