Logan's POV

"Why did I let you talk me into another season?" I grumbled bitterly to Duncan as our bus rumbled to a stop at our designated destination.

Duncan shrugged nonchalantly, stretching his arms out as if he had all the answers. "I'm just really persuasive, I guess."

I slumped further into my worn-out seat, crossing my arms in frustration. "Just shoot me."

The thought of leaving behind my peaceful Total Drama-free life for a few weeks filled me with disappointment. Coming back for another season meant diving headfirst into a whirlwind of drama, chaos, and torture. Sure, I had grown fond of some of the other contestants (except for Courtney, Ezekiel, and the two newcomers, simply because I didn't know much about them), but the idea of returning to the show was daunting. However, I couldn't deny the thrill of a free trip around the world.

As Chris and the two semi familiar faces left me intrigued about the upcoming season, questions swirled in my mind. What plans did Chris have in store for us this time? And what kind of personalities did the newbies possess? Though I had briefly interacted with them during the reunion, I had only glimpsed fragments of their true selves.

Sierra, being the one I had spent more time with, showcased a multitude of traits. Her devotion to Total Drama was evident, as she seemed to be a die-hard fan. Alejandro, on the other hand, exuded an air of secrecy. Arrogance and impatience leaked through his demeanor.

I knew it wasn't fair to judge them so quickly, but in retrospect, Alejandro's furtive nature unsettled me.

"Here's your bag," Duncan offered, handing me my backpack from the compartment we shared on the bus.

"Aw, shucks," I replied sarcastically, accepting it from him. "What's with the sudden 'nice guy' act?"

Duncan scoffed, denying any association with kindness, and accidentally stepped on Courtney's heel, causing her to let out a yelp.

"Duncan!" she exclaimed, shooting him a glare as she clutched her foot from the seat across from us.

Duncan simply chuckled, seemingly amused by the fiery reaction. "Oops. Sorry."

I rolled my eyes, slinging my bag over my shoulder. "Real mature, Duncan."

A part of me couldn't help but wonder if Duncan's recent acts of kindness were somehow connected to his previous romantic involvement with Courtney. While the gestures were appreciated, they felt out of character for him. I just wanted him to be himself.

"Hey, maybe she shouldn't be blocking the aisle when we're the ones supposed to go first," Duncan commented, slipping past Courtney, who had managed to maneuver her way into the aisle ahead of us. "Don't you remember the forbidden bus rule?"

After the reunion fiasco, Duncan and I had delved deeper into our situation, engaging in heartfelt conversations. It was refreshing to see him express his emotions, something he rarely does, and equally refreshing to have him listen when it was my turn to speak.

Despite the emotional toll his actions had taken on me, I was willing to give him another chance. After all, Duncan was the first person from a foreigner whom I had learned to trust. However, I made it clear to him that with one wrong move, I would sever ties without hesitation. Call me strict, but it felt reasonable given what he had put me through. Most people wouldn't give someone like him a second chance, so he should consider himself fortunate that I'm still by his side.

If he did something that shattered my trust, I would prioritize my mental well-being and cut off all ties with him. My happiness and peace of mind were my top priorities, and I deserve to be content.
