Logan's POV

"Why in the world is our mat yellow?!" Harold complained, scowling at the rug the interns had laid in front of us. "We're not a bunch of cowards!"

"Relax, sugar. The mat's gold because Team Victory is in first place!" Leshawna assured him. I nodded, my lips curving in agreement.

"Leshawna's right, guys. They gave us a fantastic color because we're the best team!" I spoke up. My team erupted in cheers.

It had been about half an hour since Duncan decided to quit the show. Half an hour since I made the decision to adopt a new attitude.

This season, I won't allow any distractions to get in my way. I'm putting on my game face.

As we chatted among ourselves, waiting for Chris to return from the plane, DJ pulled me aside.

"I know you might not want to talk, but you're doing okay, at least, right?" he asked, peering into my determined eyes. "I just want to make sure you're good, Logan."

"Yeah, I'm doing fine. Thanks, I really appreciate it," I responded with a small smile.

"If you ever need to talk, I'm here for you, girl," he assured me, placing a comforting hand on my shoulder.

"I'll keep that in mind. Thanks again, but for now, I think I'll be okay," I patted his hand.

I felt grateful that he wasn't pressuring me about anything. That's one of the things I love about DJ. I'm incredibly lucky to have him as a close friend.

Chef clanged the symbols together, silencing the conversations.

Chris finally returned, snacking on a few grapes while an intern fanned him with a giant leaf.

"Mm, oh. I don't know about you guys, but I'm absolutely loving Egypt! Mm," he moaned, tossing more grapes into his mouth. "And I'm going to enjoy it even more watching you tackle your second challenge. The Amazing Camel Race!"

"There's just one problem, Chris. Amazon is the team with the camel," I pointed out, gesturing towards Amazon's feeble camel struggling to stand.

"Yeah, where are the other camels?" Harold inquired, scanning the surroundings.

"There are no other camels. It's a camel race, not a camels race," Chris clarified.

"Yes!" Heather cheered.

"What!?" Alejandro exclaimed in shock, and his goat bleated in response.

"We won last time! But they get a camel, they get a goat, and we get a stick?!" Leshawna exclaimed.

"Seems like a significant disadvantage if you ask me," I grumbled, glaring at the camel.

"Each reward has its advantages. Trust me."

Yeah, I trusted someone once, for the second time, and look what happened.

"You'll be racing to the world's most infamous waterway, the Nile. Teams must bring their rewards all the way to the finish," Chris explained, a sly smile on his face. "You have sixty seconds to strategize."

Glancing at each other, my team exchanged uncertain looks. Lindsay and Bridgette were too busy swooning over Alejandro to pay attention, leaving the rest of us to figure out what to do with our reward.

"We need to think fast," I urged my team, casting a skeptical glance at the measly stick we were given as our reward. "Does anyone have a plan?"
