Logan's POV

"Man, I could really get used to this treatment, right Lindsay?" I asked, grinning at the blonde sitting across from me.

We were both basking in the glory of first-class, indulging in facials while someone massaged my aching feet. I never imagined such luxury could exist.

"Totally," Lindsay replied dreamily. "Wow, I'm so relaxed. I think my brain is asleep or something."

Lindsay gasped, and I heard the sound of liquid splashing. I assumed it was her coffee, which she had been intermittently sipping.

"Yep, completely asleep," the bubbly teen giggled. "This is amazing. And the best part is, I can't wait to see—"

"His name's Tyler," DJ interrupted Lindsay, his tone terse.

"I know, I remember!" Lindsay pouted. "Ew, what's that smell?"

"Yeah, I smell it too." I wrinkled my nose, peeling off one of the cucumber slices from my eyes.

That stench definitely didn't belong in first-class. Maybe Owen had managed to stink up the bathrooms or there was a plumbing issue?

"It's my meatless bacon and egg-like breakfast," DJ spoke up, bitterly picking at his "food". "I'm never hurting another animal again."

"Well, it sure smells like Chef's eggs to me," I muttered, waving my hand in front of my face to disperse the lingering odor.

"So now you're a me-gan?" Lindsay asked.

"Vegan," I corrected, popping the cucumber slice into my mouth.

"Don't tell Mama. She says vegans are chicken-loving chickens," DJ pleaded, and I nodded in agreement.

Suddenly, the plane began to vibrate beneath us. I glanced out the window to see us swaying back and forth in the dimly lit sky with alarming intensity.

"Uh oh, what's happening?" I gulped, panic surging through me as I clung onto my seat.

Normally, the plane would shake like this during turbulence or landing, but the night sky appeared tranquil from what I had seen.

"My coffee!" Lindsay cried out, watching the remaining coffee spill onto her lap.

Eventually, the plane settled, and Lindsay, DJ, and I let out relieved sighs.

"Am I glad that's over," I muttered, settling back into my seat.

"Ahem. This is your captain speaking," Izzy's voice blared over the intercom.

Why is she in the cockpit?

"If you look out your window, you'll witness what happens when a plane does a somersault!"

Lindsay, DJ, and I exchanged fearful glances.

How did she gain control of the plane if Chef was supposed to be the pilot?

"G-Gimme that!" I heard Chef struggling with Izzy over the PA. "Uh, y'all might wanna hold onto something heavy!"

Following that eventful experience with the somersaults, my team and the rest of the contestants stood before the magnificent museum, accompanied by Chris.

"I didn't exactly get a chance to prep my introduction, what with the unexpected water landing and all. I'm just gonna give the highlights." Chris flipped through his notecards, mumbling underneath his breath. "France, City of Love, art gallery, filler, lots of artwork, priceless, priceless artwork."

Ugh, the City of Love.

How can I possibly enjoy this romantic place when I no longer have a special someone?
