Logan's POV
"Logan, why are you staring at Duncan like that?" Heather asked, taking a seat across from me in loser class. Duncan, sitting just a few feet away, also seemed to be stealing glances in my direction. "Oh, wait..."
I let out a sigh, lacking the energy to come up with a comeback. I felt disappointed in myself. Duncan had been telling the truth all along, and I had brushed him off as if he were insignificant. He's my best friend... or at least he was. Even though I had made it clear that I needed to distance myself after he left the show in the first episode, I should have listened to him when he came back and asked me to hear him out. Is it wrong to admit that I miss talking to him?
"Well, speaking of failed romances..." Heather and Alejandro gasped as Duncan slyly smirked at them from his seat. He looked up at the two, momentarily pausing his carving on the bench. "Do you want us to hit the common area so you two lovebirds can start building your nest together?"
Engrossed in the scene unfolding, I bit my lip, observing Heather and Alejandro making awkward eye contact, their faces turning beet red.
"Yeah, right. As if. Stop it!" Alejandro and Heather exclaimed simultaneously, causing their already flushed faces to darken further.
"Blaineley was right! You two are so lame for each other!" Duncan cackled, pointing his pocket knife at them. They gasped once again, desperately avoiding each other's gaze.
I concealed my grin behind my journal, my eyes twinkling with amusement.

A few hours later, the plane touched down in the safari. Against Duncan's suggestion, I stayed put in the common room and observed as Heather and Alejandro aimlessly flirted with each other.
"No way," I managed to utter as Duncan, Heather, and Alejandro burst into laughter. Chris stood in front of us, his bald head shining under the sun, dressed in some sort of traditional garb.
"Nice dress," Duncan commented, eyeing the orange cloth wrapped around Chris' body.
"It's a traditional Maasai warrior garb," Chris responded, his tone sour. "And it came with this."
With a swift motion, Chris hurled the spear he was holding at Duncan's legs.
"Whoa! Watch it!" Duncan yelped, narrowly dodging the spear.
"Trust me, that's the least dangerous thing that'll happen to you today," Chris said with a smile, undeterred.
"Welcome to beautiful Tanzania, home of the Serengeti plains, and over seventy different kinds of animals that can kill you." Before Chris could continue, a loud metallic clamor interrupted him.
"What is that noise?"
Sierra approached us, several cans tied to her waist, with a delirious Cody slung on her back.
"Sorry we're late, heh," Sierra apologized, adjusting her backpack strap.
"What's with the cans?" Chris asked, his expression alarmed.
"Oh, I didn't have time to finish the 'Just Married' banner," Sierra answered with genuine enthusiasm, giggling at the end. "You like?"
"Very walking dinner bell for lions," Chris replied, his eyes widening in satisfaction. "You okay in there, Cody?"
Cody responded with gibberish, and my own eyes widened.
"Pure poetry, guy. I can see married life is treating you well," Chris remarked.
"Due to the temporarily weakened condition of my husband, hahaha! Agh! I just love saying that. I'll play for the both of us," Sierra informed Chris, glancing back at Cody, who clung to her like a wet noodle.
