I try to rise from the ashes
seems darkness never fades
I reach for the matches
to light up all the shade.
there's no familiar actress but
this movie's on replay.
to get up off this mattress
so I can start the day.
my energy & theirs clashes
I see in color, they see in gray
I hear the scratches
they've come to make me pay
it's like ny mind just collapses
because I have paid everyday
their games make me anxious
I no longer want to play
heinous with malice
burdens of yesterday
