grayson lupin-1st year
it's my birthday.
I'm turning 12. i feel no desire to party or do anything but i know Remus is going to do something. he always does something.
I wake up, tired. I turn over and I see regulus sitting on his bed, his poetry journal. ''hi Reggie'' i say walking towards the bathroom. ''good morning ray'' he answers. i walk into the bathroom, I put my clothes in the bathroom before i fell asleep last night.
I have a white colored shit that goes under my black sleeveless sweater that has dark green lining, my Slytherin tie tucked into my sweater. my black jeans have a Slytherin pin and a pin with a panda on it. Remus got me the panda pin when I was 8.
i walk out of the bathroom and I grab my circular glasses that I wear for the fashion. regulus was wearing a black long sleeve with a white collared shirt underneath he has a stripped green tie.
Barty and Evan must already be at breakfast. ''you ready to go Reggie'' I ask, he nods his head and stands up from the bed. we walk out of the dorm and towards the dining hall. we see Barty and Evan sitting down at our usual spot. i walk over and sit down. Bartys sitting next to me, his hand grazes my leg, I feel a chill down my spine .
I hear a song start to play thru the intercom look to the front of the dining hall. I see Sirius and James dancing to ''happy birthday''.
that's when I realize.
the people singing are Remus and another boy. my cheeks go pink as Sirius walks over and grabs my arm.he drags me to the front of the dining hall. he has a microphone in his hand. ''say happy birthday to my boy, Grayson lupin.'' i feel embarrassed as the dining hall says happy birthday to me.
''happy birthday Grayson'' James says to me, I say thank you and I walk back to my seat embarrassed. '' you didn't tell us it was your birthday'' Evan said. ''because i knew you guys would find out in a very dramatic way.'' sighed.
Remus walked in the door and was already confronted by Minnie. Remus had a short blonde boy next to him,im guessing that's the other voice over the intercom. he has freckles and hes pale but he's honestly pretty.
Remus is walking up to me. ''gray, how was it?'' he cheered. ''it was embarrassing Sirius pulled me up to the front of the dining hall.'' I spoke. Remus laughed and told me that he had to go back. '' are you guys excited for Christmas break? Barty surveyed. ''it's going to be hell, i can tell'' regulus says. ''I'm going to James's, so I have no idea.'' i confess. '' wait why are you going to James potter's house?'' Barty asks.
''i got disowned remember I told you this.'' I reminded them. ''you actually got disowned.'' Evan asks. ''no shit sherlock'' i reply putting my defense against the dark arts book down on my desk. '' no need to be snappy Sunnie''barty says. i turn to face Barty. ''what did you just call me?'' i ask. ''Sunnie' 'he repeats. ''where did that nickname come from'' i ask.
''well your name is Grayson, and you are a very sunny person.'' he winks. my heart feels like someone squeezed it. James come running into the room, about 3 minutes late. 'Grayson, my mom said happy birthday.' James tells me before he walks towards the other marauders. ''you got mommy potter to like you'' Evan teased, I hit him in the back of the head.

i walk out of my last class, the day was boring nothing interesting happened. i see James running towards me, the confusion on my face made him stop running and start walking. ''Grayson, since Christmas break starts tomorrow mom said that she has a room ready for you so don't worry'' he tells me. 'oh ok'' i say. 'oh wait,james,you should really help Remus''i tell him then i walk towards the dorm. i walk into the common room.
my boy eases instantly when i see Evan on the floor playing wizard chess with the guy my brother calls snivellus . i sit next to Evan and i watch as 'snivellus' completely ruins Evan in chess. ''hey Vanny'' i say to evan.i have decided I'm going to give all my friends nicknames. ''vanny?really?''he asks. i nod.
''your getting your ass beat at chess right now'' i remind him. ''i have noticed Sunnie'' he emphasizes on the nickname. i roll my eyes and look at snivellus. ''what's your name?'' i ask because i never actually asked for his name.
''Severus' 'he says, that's genuinely a really nice name but I'm not going to tell him that. ''hm nice,im Grayson'' i smile and stand up. ''Vanny I'm going to go to the library to do my homework with Reggie, ill be back'' i say grabbing my books and waving bye.
i walk to the library and i see regulus sitting where we normally sit. i sit down in the sit across from him. i open my datda book. ''so you are actually going to live with the potters?'' Reggie asks. ''Yea, I have no where else to go'' i smile at him then i write down a few answers for the homework. we talk about random things for the rest of the study session.
me and regulus walk up to the dorm.
now Barty is beating Evan at chess.
''Vanny, your still losing''i taunted. ''yes,im horrible at this game' 'Evan puts his hands on his face in frustration. i laugh and i walk into the dorm. i put green sweatpants and a black tee-shirt on and i walk to the dorm door
''goodnight Reggie''i yell out the door
''goodnight ray' 'he yells back.
