~~Unknown's POV~~
After several nights of unsuccessful hunting in search of the end to this damned war me and my men have finally found the last piece to our plan. After years of all of our lives stolen from us we can finally put an end to this threat and the humans.
"MEN. Today we rest. Tomorrow we wreak havoc on all those who took from us." I say bringing forth an up-rise of roars in agreement.
After many years of our lives stolen to take part in this war I sure as hell wasn't going to miss it.
"Sir, we've set camp and gathered the men you called for. Are there any more requests that you want me to take care of for you?" Clover asked looking pleased with herself.
It warmed my heart to see her happy I'd much rather see her like this than the way we found her all those many years ago.
~~Flashback~~
The night was dark with just the slightest bit of light illuminating from the moon. The street lamps that once lit the town provided no light. Windows shattered leaving traces of broken glass everywhere. The fire was no longer blazing but it was evident that it took place. Ash spread across the lands. On three massive stallions were my father and I on one and his two most trusted friends on the other two. I watched helplessly at just age 6 as they searched to no prevail in hopes to find survivors of the attack.
"These villagers did not deserve this. They didn't fight back... all because it's not the way we do things." Marlon my father's friend and beta said fighting back tears. His sister and nieces and nephews were some of the few that died.
"I'm truly sorry for your loss but you know that the way of the wolves is to find peace. We don't fight. We resist the urges of violence. It's against our morals... besides you know what happens when we lose control" My father says trying his best to offer comfort to the grieving wolf whilst reminding him of their previous conversation from not too long before the trip even started.
"Yeah, well I say we kill the greedy bastards." Julio my father's omega laughed
"And end innocent lives? I will not tolerate-" My father started before being cut off by his Beta.
"So what? They murdered my sister. She sure as hell wasn't a criminal, she didn't deserve that. She spent her life helping children whose parents couldn't afford the basics needed to survive. She spoke at the prisons and drug abuse centers of all the ways to better yourself and that just because the world labels you as a monster that you aren't just that. She spoke of second chances and with her I honestly believed in hope but now you just allowed for these beasts to take away the most innocent person in my life" Marlon yelled choking on his own tears
"I'm sorry Marlon. Marleni didn't deserve that and niether did her children. We'll make this right. I promise. We'll go into town. We'll try to come to an agreement with the humans." My father said all as I watched each and every destroyed structure.
There was something there. Not very much movement was visible but I noticed under the piles of wood and debris was that of a child.
"Dad. Stop. Child." Is all I muttered before throwing myself off the horse stumbling over my two tiny little feet.
I ran in the direction of the torn down building which was still mildly set ablaze. Only a large pillar and the fireplace stood of the original building and everything else had practically died at the original arson. "Help! Please. I can't feel my leg." An older girl screamed in a panic.
I hadn't even seen her there. Her leg was blue and completely trapped under a fallen pillar laced in a green substance. My dad and Omega Julio rushed to aid her while Marlon rushed to help the younger girl whom I had originally noticed. Swiftly behind Marlon I followed. I kept looking back and forth in between the chaotic scene that had presented itself around little six year old me. The other girl muttered "It hurts. I can't feel it."
"How did this happen?" My father asks internally at battle.
They tied me up and locked us in here as they set the house on fire. All the adults were taken to the church to be tied and burnt on crosses for what they called witchcraft. They slapped my Ma across the face for speaking in our native language and cut her tongue straight out of her mouth."
I felt a cold rush over me after hearing this. Tears threatened to escape my eyes. I looked helplessly back and forth between my father and his two friends wondering whether they would be next and if I would be spared from the pain of death.
"Hey, it's okay. They'll be okay." Marlon noticed my discomfort. During the time that I spent in my own thoughts and watching my father and the older girl he had already checked to see if the little girl had any issues. She was in perfect health other than the bruise of a hand mark on her shoulder. She was strapped on to Marlon as though her life depended on it which considering the circumstances it practically did. Fast asleep and exhausted after the wild night that took place.
Dragging me out of my thoughts Marlon tapped my shoulder "Hey bud, let's go grab some blankets."
I followed Marlon as he led me and the younger girl back to the horses and it was at that time when I heard the ear piercing scream. It was the older girl. They had taken the pillar off of her leg but she wasn't healing nor was she moving. Her chest moved not once. As wolves we had fast healing but it was far too late for her and I knew it.
"Hey, it's okay... she'll be fine. She is just going to need a lot of rest." Marlon assured to both me and the tiny little girl. I knew he wasn't telling the truth. He tried his best to mask his thoughts but I knew all too well at just so young that things weren't always rainbows and sunshine for our kind.
~~END OF FLASHBACK~~
"Sir?" Clover asked admiringly with her great big doll eyes.
"No, thank you love. Just prepare the men."
