CHAPTER XII - WHEN THE TRUTH COMES OUT

My heart started to race when I heard the same voice from the phone call and the pet shop behind me. "I'm not sure if you remember but you said that you would give me anything to leave you alone. Are you still willing to do that?" I slowly turned around to face the man. "I'm sorry. I don't have money or any fortune so please just leave me be." The man grinned and leaned against a tree next to him.

"I don't want your money or fortune don't worry. Why don't I tell you a story, and then we can negotiate." I backed away hitting my back on a tree, being sure that we had a safe distance between us I slowly nodded. I just wanted to get out of here.

"Once upon a time, there were two twins who lived a comfortable life. they had lots of money, enough to feed a country. One day when the two twins turned 18, they were promised by their parents that they would be able to lead the company together when they died. All was well until one day the parents died, the twins realised that they would have to lead the company together but they wanted the company to themselves. At the time, the elder twin had a husband and had just given birth while the younger twin had a girlfriend. The younger twin's girlfriend wanted the company and its money so she begged the younger twin to get rid of his twin so they could have the company. However, the elder twin would not give away the company so easily. She fought with her twin multiple times but when she realised there was no use trying anymore she left with her husband and child, but the younger twin hated his sister. You see, his sister bullied him in school and always took credit for all his achievements. So, to make sure she wouldn't return he killed her family."

He started laughing like a maniac and slowly came closer to me. "However, it looks like he didn't do the job properly." I felt a tear drop down my face and I started to walk backwards at a faster pace. "What do you mean? Why are you telling me this?"

"You still don't know? No one told you? I killed your parents. Your mother and I, that was our story." He came close to my ear before whispering, "You suffered in that orphanage because she left you there, she knew that I was coming for her and you were just an obstacle in her way so she just got rid of you. You were supposed to be in that car with them, but you weren't and they died." He paused before continuing.

"Its. All. Your. Fault." I started crying and dropped to the ground, screaming like a maniac. I was scared, devastated, anxious and felt guilty. They died because of me. I started to feel my breathing quicken and I realised that I was having a panic attack. "I-I c-can't breathe. H-help." The man who I now knew as my uncle chuckled and lifted my chin up. "I should have done this a long time ago but I felt sorry for you with your poor illness." He went behind me and after a few seconds, I felt something hard hit my head.
