CHAPTER XXI - FOR HIM

"Jungwon, I like you too but there's someone else who has my heart." Jungwon nodded understandingly and sighed, "Well it was worth a try." My heart broke seeing how upset he was and I felt really guilty for hurting him. "Please don't be too upset, you'll find someone much better than me." He plastered a smile and offered to drop me home.

We stood in front of my apartment building and just as I was about to turn to leave I quickly stopped. "Jungwon, we can still be friends right?" He nodded "Of course, Goodnight." I waved him goodbye and went upstairs to my floor. I noticed that the doormat had moved slightly but I shrugged it off and straightened it before heading inside.

"Shit." I noticed that Malteaser wasn't anywhere to be found. "MALTEASER!" I looked around and remembered that I had left him at the dog cafe. It was way too late for the cafe to be open so that meant I would have to go tomorrow. I got ready for bed feeling lonely and empty now that Malteaser wasn't here with me until I got a knock at my door. I slowly got up and hesitantly opened the door slightly so it was ajar.

"Bunny, it's me." I recognised the voice and opened the door widely to see Sunghoon with Malteaser and Gaeul. "Malteaser." I lifted him from the ground and gave him a big hug butting our noses together and giving him kisses everywhere. "Jungwon called me after school and said that you hadn't picked him up so I did and took care of him for the day." I hugged Sunghoon tightly and he stroked my hair and rubbed my back. "Thank you." I could feel tears welling up in my eyes I was so worried about Malteaser and felt like the shittiest pet owner in the world. "No problem."

I invited Sunghoon inside and let the pets run around while we talked. "You should stay the night. It's too late for you to go home alone." He agreed and I made some ramyeon for the both of us while he lay on the sofa on his phone. "What are you doing?" I shouldn't have asked that but I was curious. "Nothing, just doing brand ambassador stuff." I shrugged and handed him a bowl of ramyeon before turning on the news.

"BREAKING NEWS. After 4 months of no activity or news from the women of the Park family, Park Jeongeun and Park Yeji have been spotted in a luxurious restaurant having dinner together. The reason for their sudden disappearance from the public eye is unknown but we are glad to see them again." I changed the channel after seeing Sunghoon's expression darken, hearing the news report. "I'm sorry that wa-" He quickly cut me off. "It's fine, it's not your fault." We ended up eating our ramyeon in silence for a bit longer until he broke the ice.

"So what are you doing for Christmas?" He asked. It took me off guard since I hadn't really thought about it yet. "I don't know, this is my first time celebrating it." I took a big bite of my ramyeon thinking about what I could do this year. "Celebrate with me. I don't usually celebrate it but for you, I don't mind. I'll make it really special, I promise." He said and we finished off the rest of our ramyeon.
