3rd Person POV

On the tiny island that Crocus owns, all of the Strawhat Members took a seat. They all paid close attention as Crocus began to tell them about Laboon and why he's in the Red Line, frequently hitting his head on the enormous red rock.

"This whale is an island whale..." Crocus started. "It's the largest species of whale in the world. This one's name is Laboon." He then turns his gaze to the two. "And these two are rogues from a nearby town. Their goal is to hunt Laboon. Because the meat from Laboon can feed their town for 2–3 years."

"I do not understand why they wanted to kill and eat Laboon. I mean-- there are more gigantic and delicious sea species out there!" Y/N exclaims, the others agreeing with him as Crocus continued his story.

"Of course, I won't allow that to happen! And as for why Laboon keeps on bashing his head against the Red Line, and bellows while facing Reverse Mountain... There's a reason for all that, too."

"Reason?" Elle repeated. Crocus nods at her.

"Long ago, while I was minding my business as a lighthouse keeper, a certain group of friendly pirates came down from Reverse Mountain. And following their ship was a little baby whale.

 That whale was Laboon."

"I see..." The Y/N puts his hand on his chin, confirming his suspicions. "The pirates that Laboon followed-- he thinks that they are his family, since they found him as a baby before they came down from the Reverse Mountain."

"Correct." Crocus glances at him. "The reason that they've stayed here is to make repairs and get themselves rested before they could travel next to the Grand Line. They stayed here for several months to fix their ship. And I became quite good friends with them during their stay. But--"

"But--?"

"The day before their departure, their captain asked me. "Could you take care of Laboon for 2–3 years? Once we've sailed around the world, we'll come back for him no matter what." That's what he said to me, for Laboon."

The mood became solemn as they now know the truth behind Laboon. Elle is nearly on her verge of crying after she hears that.

"Understanding their intent, Laboon patiently waited for them here."

"Poor Laboon!" Nami gasps. "So that's why he keeps on bellowing even today and bashing himself against the Red Line..."

"That's right..." Crocus closes his eyes in pity. "It's been over 50 years since then..."
