When Cui Huifen first arrived in the big city to attend university, she was nothing but a girl from the countryside with great aspirations and was determined to achieve her goals. Despite not being from the city, she was able to adapt quickly and assimilate herself into the fast-paced life of urban living. Her good looks skyrocketed her popularity on campus and her charismatic and easygoing personality left her acquainted with many from various social circles. As a result, she had learned to be open-minded of different ideas and opinions. But nothing in all her 30 years of living and it's experiences had prepared her for this extraordinary and unprecedented situation.
What might this be, you ask? Well, like many things, it all started with one question: "What is your young master's name?"
The old Nanny stared at her with profound bewilderment, then as though the most natural answer, she responded, "the eldest son of the Chen Family, young master Chen Yichen."
For the umpteenth time today, Cui Huifen was shocked. She didn't know if this was a miraculous coincidence or a prank that had been excellently orchestrated on her, but she suddenly didn't feel so good.
Chen Yichen...
The male lead of the famous novel, 'As Long As You Stay'.
In the novel, Chen Yichen was a cold, distant and domineering person detached from human feeling. Born from the wealthiest old money rich family in City Y, he had grown up from a talented and highly intelligent boy to an incomparable and extremely capable man. Chen Yichen was like a walking god. He was tall, intelligent and undeniably handsome with a natural charm. He had the type of aloof personality that women often swooned over for absolutely no reason and was a chick-magnet wherever he went. He was also a strong and formidable character, who could be so cruel and ruthless, yet charming and desirable at the same time. Every female character in the novel instantly fell at his feet like he was a god walking among mortals with no interest of worldly things - except, he was a powerful figure in the business world. With both a difficult and seemingly detached personality, he was able to do things that honestly seemed inhumane without batting an eye - the author really put him up on that high of a pedestal.
Many readers fell for this cold character, but Cui Huifen could not for the life of her stand him. It was a miracle itself that she didn't burn the book while reading. Everytime he showed up in the novel, the female lead would always end up verbally or emotionally abused yet still attach herself to him, sometimes not in the most innocent way you'd think.
Maybe she was a little biased because he hadn't let the villainess, whom she shared the same name with, off lightly at the end of the book. But regardless, he truly was an arrogant and un-likable character. How could anyone possibly fancy someone like him in real life? This was all just a work of fiction.
And yet again, here she was possibly having pranced into the estate of the very character she disliked the most.
How could she comprehend this information? That it seemed she had died and entered the very story that had lead up to her tragic death? Was this even possible?
The answer was staring her right in the face. It was.
Her astonishment was visible on her face, which incensed the teenager.
"What's with the surprised expression? Don't tell me you didn't know this was the residence of Young Master Chen? Everyone in City Y knows the he lives in the east!" She snorted scornfully.
In the girl's opinion, she didn't believe Cui Huifen's story - that she was a random passerby with a pitiful circumstance. On the contrary, she thought that Cui Huifen, this alluring vixen, had come here with an agenda to seduce their young master or gain his sympathy with a sob story using her child. Why else was she be here and asking about the young master? It was clear she was just some wretch looking to climb the social ladder. Just a cheap whore from a brothel. There were so many shameless people like that in the world and this woman was no different, only above average in looks. This made the girl angrier.
