There were many things Azul knew. How to do math in his head. How to worm most people into a contract. How long it takes for his tentacles to grow back if they got chopped off (he learned quite painfully when the twins tugged on them when they tried and forcefully coaxed him out of his octopus pot, totally by accident but it was painful)

There were many things he didn’t know. Whether or not Jamil still had a grudge since last year's winter break. How did his mother's ex-husband still have the nerve to show up to her restaurant as if nothing happened, and how was he going to win back the favor of the twins.

He could probably ask for the first two, but there probably aren’t any hints available for the last one. It seems like Ortho has run off on him since the child or NRC got into gaming like his older brother.

The twins were unpredictable at times. Jade is evil in his planning. Floyd is the wild card, only two people are hurt or confused on a good day. If those people didn’t include him or Jade.

“Listen Azul, do you want the twins back or do you want your octopus pot!” He took a moment to think about that. “Both seem pretty good”… “No Azul, you need the twins!”.

****************

“Hey Jade, I wonder what Azul’s doing now that we can’t help him” Floyd was spread out like a starfish on one of the Mostro Lounge tables, absolutely careless for any sanitary violation. “If anything he’s probably going off in his room about any way to win us over”.

“Still thinking about the octopus Floyd. It has only been a day, but you know what mom and dad said” Jade replied sitting at the same booth as Floyd.

“If you two ever want a chance of taking over the family business then you must drop that octopus. No unnecessary personal connections will be tolerated. I remember Jade, but why so soon?”

“I don’t know Floyd, but we always told Azul that we would leave him. It was gonna happen someday. It was inevitable"

"I guess. Hey Jade, what will we do about the lounge?"

"It will still be running, but we get 33%. I lowered the number because the lounge money won't matter after we take the business"

"I bet he'd appreciate every scent we give him". Floyd snickered and got off the table. "What a poor unfortunate soul we have".

“Oh Floyd you're being mean. You can’t use a poor unfortunate soul on him, he’s practically the next sea witch”.

“I'm not being mean, I'm being a mental arithmetic”. Great seven please stop Jade from slapping this fool.

“Mental arithmetic means you can do complicated math in your head”. What did Floyd think that meant? Fair? Kind? Eel?!?

“Oh, I heard Azul say that to a client with the word fair, I assumed it meant fair”. Jade was there, and Azul said those things completely unrelated to each other.
