Jungwon |

I arrived home, feeling a mix of excitement and curiosity. Jay had approached me at school, asking if I was interested in hanging out later.

It caught me off guard because he had never shown much interest in spending time with me before. But well, I'm not complaining about that.

I settled down at my desk and began working on my homework. However, my mind kept wandering, replaying the moment when Jay asked me to hang out.

Why now? What could he possibly want to talk about? I tried to push these thoughts aside and focus on my assignments, but anticipation kept distracting me.

Hours passed as I diligently completed my homework. My excitement grew with each passing minute, imagining what Jay might have in store for our hangout.

I wondered if it would be a chance for us to bond or if there was something specific he wanted to discuss.

Finally, I finished my last assignment and set it aside. With a sense of accomplishment, I eagerly waited for the time to meet Jay. The minutes seemed to crawl by, and I found myself checking the clock repeatedly.

Eventually, the anticipated moment arrived. I grabbed my phone and sent Jay a quick text to confirm the meeting place. He responded promptly, suggesting we meet at a local café in our neighborhood. I quickly agreed and rushed to get ready.

As I walked towards the café, my mind raced with various possibilities. Did he have a specific reason for wanting to hang out? Or maybe he just wanted to spend more time together as friends?

The uncertainty gnawed at me, but I pushed the thoughts aside, determined to enjoy the moment.

When I arrived at the café, Jay was already waiting, a warm smile on his face. Seeing him made my heart flutter with a mix of nervousness and excitement. I greeted him with a wide grin and took a seat across from him.

"Hey, Jungwon! I'm glad you could make it," Jay said, his voice filled with genuine enthusiasm.

"I wouldn't miss it for the world," I replied, unable to contain my own excitement.

As we settled into our conversation, Jay started by asking about my day and how things were going at school. We chatted about our shared classes, funny moments with our friends, and our mutual love for music. It felt natural and effortless, as if we had known each other for years.

As the conversation flowed, I couldn't help but wonder if there was a deeper reason for Jay's sudden interest in getting to know me better.

However, I chose to enjoy the present moment rather than overanalyze the situation. There would be time for answers later, if needed.

As we sipped our coffees and shared stories, I discovered new sides of Jay's personality. He really knows how to make me laugh, and I found myself opening up to him more than I had expected. It was a refreshing and exhilarating experience.

As our conversation continued to flow effortlessly, I couldn't help but feel a pang of guilt for not being fully present.

Sunoo's words echoed in my mind, reminding me of his request to find out more about Ni-ki's family. Since Jay was Ni-ki's cousin, he might have some insight into their background.

Taking a deep breath, I mustered the courage to ask Jay about Ni-ki's family. I could sense his surprise as his smile faded slightly. Nevertheless, he composed himself and replied.

"So.. Ni-ki's parents passed away in a car crash when he was still young. After that, he lived with me, my uncle, and aunt for a while. Then, when I was old enough to live on my own, I brought him with me. We've been living together ever since."
