Sunoo |

Jungwon and I walked side by side, making our way to the cafeteria. The buzz of conversations and the aroma of food filled the air, but my mind was still preoccupied with Ni-ki's strange behavior during our English lesson. I turned to Jungwon, breaking the silence.

"Did you notice something off about Ni-ki today? He was so distant and quiet during our group activity. I really wonder what's going on with him," I said, my voice laced with concern.

Jungwon furrowed his brow, matching my worried expression. "Yeah, I noticed that, too. Maybe he's just having a bad day. You shouldn't worry about it too much."

I nodded in agreement, my thoughts racing with possibilities. "Don't you think we should talk to him about it? Maybe there's something on his mind, and he just needs someone to listen."
Jungwon pondered for a moment before responding.

"You sound like a therapist already, calm down. Why do you even care about him so much, hm?"

He doesn't take this seriously. I mean, I can understand him; He doesn't like Ni-ki anyway, so why'd he care about how he feels?
Wait- why do I even care?

As we entered the cafeteria, searching for an empty table, we found a secluded corner and took our seats. I took a bite of my sandwich before continuing the conversation.

"I have a little suspicion. I'm not sure if it makes any sense, but whatever. Do you know anything about Ni-ki's family? Well, okay, Jay's his cousin, but besides that?"

Jungwon was more than just confused.
"Where the hell would I know something about his damn fami-"

"Exactly!" I interrupted him. "He doesn't like talking about his family. But why??"
When I listen to myself while speaking, I no longer know what I'm talking about.

"Sunoo. I don't talk about my family in front of other people either. He probably has his reasons."

"Oh, come on, aren't you also curious about why he's acting like this?"

"Right now, I'm not, no. But I can ask Jay if he knows something about it."

I glanced at Jungwon, noticing his excitement building up as he mentioned talking to Jay. It was no secret that he admired Jay, and the thought of getting closer to him through Ni-ki's situation only added fuel to the fire.

Part of me couldn't help but find it endearing, even though I didn't openly admit it. Besides, if Jungwon could find a way to connect with Ni-ki through Jay, maybe it would help Ni-ki open up about whatever was troubling him.

"Alright, if you think Jay might knows something, then we can give it a try," I said reluctantly, masking my own curiosity. "But remember, we don't want to make Ni-ki feel cornered or uncomfortable."

Jungwon grinned, his eyes glinting with anticipation. "Don't worry, Sunoo. I got this. I'll handle it delicately."

Just then, Ni-ki, Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, and Heeseung approached our table. They greeted us with smiles and joined us, filling the space with their presence.

Jake and Sunghoon were engaged in a lively conversation, their laughter filling the air. I exchanged a knowing look with Jungwon, both of us secretly shipping them together. It was heartwarming to see them getting closer.

As we engaged in casual banter, Sunghoon brought up their dreadful math lesson. "Guys, you won't believe what happened in our math class today.

The teacher kept picking on this one student, and it got so intense that the poor thing ended up crying. It was horrible."
