I blinked lazily, my blurry vision seeing nothing but a hazy image. I must have fallen asleep..
I regained my vision, taking in the sight. I looked around, seeing the situation which I was still in. I shook my head, ridding myself of slumber. As I tried to sit up, I find the boy leaning against me, still asleep."Sleeping peacefully, I see." I muttered, a slight grin on my face. He was adorable, and I didn't want that to change. I slowly sat up, and laid Ciel's head down on my lap, brushing his hair. Letting out a sigh, I leaned back on the bars, looking up at the ceiling of the cage. "What's for today.." I thought, cringing at what tortures would come.
The sound of footsteps echoed throughout the room, as the silence finally broke by the interruption of a large door abruptly swung open.
"Alright, kiddies. Feeding time."
In came a two men, holding buckets of glop to 'feed' us. They stomped over to the other cages, manually pouring it into the children's mouths.I softly tapped Ciel in the shoulder, lightly shaking him. "Ciel, wake up." I whispered, furrowing my brow. His azure blue eyes blinked till his vision focused on me. He smiled faintly, then peered at the men who were making their way towards us.
"Eat now or don't eat at all." The man rasped, banging the shovel against the bars. They rounded the cage and shoved the glop down our throats as if we were trash shoots.
I wiped my chin, gulping down the disgusting feed. The men snickered, dragging the shovel against the floor as they left the room. I sighed, curling up on the floor. Ciel crossed his legs, and scooted next to me.
"Don't worry, I'll protect you." He reassured, patting my shoulder. I looked up to him with tears trickling down my cheeks.
"No, I'll protect you. I will take your beatings, I will take the punishments. I just want you alive and happy like we were before we ended up in this Hell Hole." I spat the words out, gagging tears. I wanted to preserve his image, I didn't want him to be as beat up and as damaged as me. I covered my face, shielding him from seeing my current state.
The boy moved my arm away, and wiped away my tears. "Eveera.." He whispered, before I wrapped my arms around him, sobbing on his shoulder.
"No, I'm going to protect you." I cried, wiping my eyes with my sleeve.
"I will get you out of here alive."After moments of silence, the door burst open, as crowds of masked individuals poured in. Chatting filled the room, as a majority took their seats whilst a few prepared the altar. The candles were lit, which illuminated the dark arena.
Two masked people came in with a cart of objects. Weapons were individually cleansed and laid across a table.
The chatting quickly died down, as people began to lean in to see such an event begin.
Footsteps echoed throughout the room, as a masked individual approached our cage. OUR Cage.
Two people stood aside the cage hatch, wielding torches. The jingling of keys struck horror into my heart, as I backed into a corner. I grabbed Ciel's hand, pulling him with me.
"Ciel!" I screamed, grabbing both his hands. He was being pulled away form my grasp by the masks.
"No.."
