I've returned, alone though. Oh well, anyways I'll continue the story myself.

There, amongst the dirtied, damp mess of what used to be my childhood was a shiny little glimmer of nostalgia. I reached down to pick up the small object, looking over it's smudged and muddied luster. I made my way across the room to a water puddle in the corner.

After rinsing the object and rubbing off the dirt with my skirt, I held it up to the light that filtered through the window, seeing it's intricate design.

I seemed unfazed from the skim of memories that this object was involved in.

It was my mother's locket.

Such a fine piece of art; a small hinged case of silver, engraved with the family crest on the front and a small name written elegantly on the back.

"Wendy Wilde." I murmured quietly, tilting the object to see it reflect the light. I sighed quietly, shutting my eyes for a moment, embracing the silence.

Suddenly, the sound of something large hitting the ground echoed through the vacant structure. I snapped out of my daze and stood up. I pocketed the locket and hurried out of the room, jogging down the dark corridor. I glanced in each of the rooms I passed by, most of them caved in by the ceiling or a wall.

My gaze dropped to the ground, hearing the squelching sound of my feet on soggy carpet. I frowned at the mere condition of the building, and hurried on till I reached the outside.

I looked from left to right, scanning for any sign of Zeke. I sighed quietly and went to find him.

"Zeke? Ze--ke." I called out, my hands cupped around my mouth like a megaphone. As I strolled the perimeter of the manor, my gaze occasionally caught movement in the wood. I passed it off as an animal or the wind, but I couldn't trust that assumption.

My heart picked up in rate as the rustling sound began to  draw near. Instead of walking, I lightly jogged, trying to create distance from the sound. For all I know, it could be an intruder.

Suddenly, the sound of branches breaking sounded my alarm to run. I faced forwards and sprinted for it as a flock of birds erupted overhead from behind me.

'Shit shit shit!' I murmured under my breath, picking up the pace. With the speed I was running at now, I may even outrun a possible bear!

I looked back over my shoulder to see if anything was on my tail, and to my delight I was free of it.

"Darn, that was a clos--" One moment I was sprinting and the next moment I was slammed against a figure who seemed unfazed by the event.

"Mistress?" the familiar, deep voice brought a wave of relief as I wrapped my arms around his waist.

I stood there for a moment, my eyes shut, and my arms still wrapped around my butler. I was disappointed that Zeke didn't respond to my action.

"Hug me back damnit." I growled, squeezing a bit.

"As you wish, my lady." He replied in a gentle tone, kneeling down to give me a big bear hug.

"You better know how to treat me if you're going to be by my side from here on, got it?" I spoke tensely, gritting my teeth.

"Yes, my lady." He nodded, giving a small yet sweet smile.
