Chapter 19

     I kept eye contact with Ellis as I chewed on my cheesy goodness. I could see sweat beads break on his forehead and neck it's comical. Kendal is also busy encouraging him. I finished my double cheesed burger and cleaned my mouth with a tissue before sipping on my drink.

"So, Kendal tells me you love her. Why not deny that fact and let's all move on." I said not wavering. I have seen Lew do this times without number so I get the gist.

"I do love her, with all my heart, to Neptune and back." Ellis defended.

"Good, so you love her, uh? What’re your plans after graduation?" I countered.

"I already passed my internship training for business and my approval letter is ready for when I graduate. So, once I start working I will get us a house of Ruby's liking that’s very comfortable, then a car to take us around." A smile broke on his shaking demeanour as he imagined their future together. "I will get us two puppies cause Ruby loves them, then we would get married and the whole world would know how much I love her. After that, we start a family together." He finished happily. He has it all planned out. A smile slipped through my though act.

I quickly covered it up then he met my eyes and his smile fell but I cooed. "Awwn, that’s so cute, you have everything’s planned out." I gushed then he eased into a smiling expression. Just what I needed, I suddenly stood up and dragged is collar closer to me. I heard Kendal in the background say suddenly. "Cupid!"

"If you break her heart, even by a mistake, I promise to find you, cut off all of your baby makers and feed them to you." I said very lowly then let his collar go. "Are we clear, Ellis?" I asked smiling as I crunched a fry.

"C’mon Cupid, cut him some slack, he’s still going to meet the family." Kendal said to me. I could see her trying to hide her smile.

"I’m still meeting them?" He squeaked. And I wanted to laugh so badly.

"Yes love, and they’re way worse then Cupid here. Especially Kal-Meier." Kendal elaborated.

"Would you….excuse me for a second?" He stood up and left hurriedly. Kendal and I bursted into laugher. "That was great, look at how he shook." She said laughing.

"I know, right? But I was serious about his baby makers."

Kendal chocked. "What?"

"Be grateful I love you." I waved it off. Ellis came back a bit later, all determined and motivated.

"Okay Ruby, I’m ready to face the family." He said, Kendal and I shared a knowing look holding out laughter at bay, this is classic.

"You still want to marry her?" I asked.

"I can’t live without her and I definitely cannot let little or big threats get to me. It is part of the trials of my love for Kendal." He said and I really melted at his words.

"You’re a keeper Ellis I’m happy Kendal got to you first." I said normally with a bright smile.

"Oh, thank goodness I passed the best friend test." He said sighing all tension leaving his shoulders.

He leaned into his fiance. "I love you, Kendal." He said to her before kissing her.

"And I love you." She said back.

"You know Kendal said you are very kind and passionate but for a second earlier I thought you were you know….Bipolar." He said to me.

"You said that?" I asked Kendal, taking her free hand and she nodded. "Awn, aren’t I the luckiest? Just don't break her heart, consequences follow." I told Ellis and he nodded.
