Brydee
"Lacey! Please stop hitting me! Reece, Lacey is abusing me!" Sadie lamely called out and ducked behind Reece for cover. Lacey ran over to her giggling "Sorry, Sorry!" and tried to give her a hug. It didn't go well.
"No, help! Ow, Lace, you're hurting me!" Sadie wriggled around, and finally managed to pull herself free. I just stood on the outside watching it all happen, I was definitely in the group, but I never really got paid that much attention.
Sadie started talking to Aria, the girl next to me, who I was about to start a conversation with, oh well.
"So, Aria? What are you smuggling in your dimples this time?" The giggled, and I just stood there, on the outside, watching it all happen, never really there.
"Hey, Brydee, how did swimming go last night, did you beat all the other girls...and boys!" Both Aria and Sadie burst out laughing at Sade's little joke, but I just kept frowning- the only thing I knew how to do well, apart from swimming. But even so, I had fierce competition- Elliot. She was the extremely sporty and competitive girl in our year, who was overly confident and had about 10 million boys in love with her.
"Hey, Brydee, what is up with you? Is Elliot giving you a hard time again?" Sadie sounded genuinely concerned, and I felt a little bad for being so rude. I let my face muscles relax, and I tried my best at a smile...it didn't go so well.
"Whoa, there, grim reaper, cool it!" She chuckled, and then the bell went. Time for early morning tutor. And early morning bullying- that's the problem with being in the 'nerd group', no one treats you like a human.

The bell rang after second period to indicate break, and I picked up my chunk backpack, and headed for the picnic area. There they were, my shambled group of friends, all clustered together to make a multi-coloured, unwanted rainbow. None of us fitted in. Just a fact of life.
But we had fun, most of the time.
"I mean, we were just walking to Biology when someone full-on slapped her in the face, it was hilarious, she was just like 'what?', and then carried in walking-" Sadie was crying with laughter (as usual) when I got there, and only Reece turned to acknowledge my arrival. "S'up Brydee? How was R.E? Boring as hell?"
I nodded. "Thought so."
We spent nearly all of our free time at school in the library- it was safe and cosy and had plush, blue sofa's dotted throughout. When we arrived, Aria grabbed us a table, and the conversations started: 'How was your weekend?' 'Who do you fancy?' 'Any new gossip?' were all common topics. They were all dotted with innuendos, mostly from the big 3 (Sadie, Aria and Reece) and mostly directed towards Lacey.
Someone must have mentioned the word 'friends', but Sadie pumped out a story from the holidays about Wiki's new definition of friends. I wont go into detail, but lets just say I would classify that definition as friends with benefits, rather than just friends. Then whenever someone would say friends, the big 3 would burst out laughing, and I did start to chuckle, also.
This would clearly be an inside joke, and a good one, too.
#TheBig3- what a good name, eh? No? Fine. So, how is the story so far? Compelling? Indulgent? A little hard to follow? Well, let me know! P.S, who is your favourite? I'm between Aria and Zara- wait, you haven't met her yet! Mwahaha!
