Aria

Life is easy when you're a tall, skinny-model type with a bank of about a million friends. And most of those were outside of my group. But in in the group?

It was just easier to play dumb, little second to Sadie...she was a complete, psychotic lunatic, crazy for power- a wannabe.

But she was my best friend- soz, Saysay, buddy- and I loved her like a sister, an over the top, manic sister.

So, as I was saying, life was pretty easy, but not for everyone.

Elliot pushed through the bustling crowd of sweaty, annoying brats form our year, and made her way towards Brydee. On instinct, I knew there was gonna be a bustle, so no one could have ever predicted the events that would follow:

Just before aggressively crashing into Brydee, Elliot's pale, orange mobile bleeped it's tedious, melancholy tune. She looked at the text in a distressed way, like her solid, hard façade was slowly melting away and she was drowning in it. I felt an obsessive urge to save her, but no one could, she was falling, breaking...right in front of my eyes.

Brydee must have caught a glimpse of this awful text, as she uttered out "Oh, Elliot...I'm sorry-" She was cut off by the normally strong and confident girl pushing past her, wiping away the flood of tears that had just appeared and were threatening to ruin her pristine (if a little over the top) makeup.

"What was it?" Sadie whispered, sounding more human than I'd ever heard in my life.

Brydee looked at all of us, with a somehow grief-stricken face.

"Guys...it was the local hospital...umm...Elliot's mum...just...died."

I walked into physics, a little lost (and a lot late), but Sir was just sat in his chair, waiting for the lab technician team to arrive. He acknowledged my appearance with a smile, but didn't question my absence from about the first half of the lesson. I took my seat next to Vanessa Oaklens quietly, pulled out my 'Circuits, How to Make Science Fun for Once' text book and waited for further instruction.

There was none, so I had to ask around. Vanessa had blatantly done no work, and Reece, on my right, was engrossed in a conversation with Amalie and Jonah - The cutest couple of the century. Their ship name was, oddly, Jamie, as they called each other John and Amy, to turn their beautifully unusual names into something common, I guess. Especially since they were so...unique. But in a good way, we were pretty good friends, actually.

I was friends with everyone.

But, anyway, I couldn't talk to anyone on my table, and I couldn't be bothered to walk all the way over to Sadie and Zara on the other side of the classroom. So I opted for the tall, hunched figure in the corner, which turned out to be Brett Collins. Well he was kind of cute.

"Hey, Aria. You, know, before you spurt out any romantic song you came over here to sing for me to win over my affections, that's just a really beautiful name!" Brett smiled at me, and pulled his letterman jacket to his neck, swinging back and forth. I sucked it up and mock-bitterly spat. "Actually, I came for answers, not a song...I don't sing...But I bet you do." I span a little challenge on the last part, and his eyes sparkled with the thrill of it.

"Yeah, I do sing. And, as for the answer...YES, I WILL MARRY YOU!" He shouted so the whole flipping class could hear. I shook my head and, with a resigned whisper, added "You embarrass me. Which page?" He smiled, and stuck up seven fingers, then five. Seventy-five.

Zara was glaring at me and I had no idea why. Did she like Brett? No. She couldn't. But even if she did, it didn't matter. I didn't.

Did I?

So, this was an interesting chapter, who do you think will win over Brett? Imma put my money on Aria, 'cause Imma thinking Imma gon' make her kinda obsessive, more fun! Imma think Imma gonna stop saying Imma, better for everyone, right?
