Lily spent much of the afternoon after tea in the First Class reading and writing room, hiding from her family.  She did some reading before catching a glimpse of loose paper, stamped with the R.M.S Titanic seal.  Lily grinned heartedly to herself, remembering the challenge Harold gave her.  Lily grabbed some paper and took to a table.  She picked up a pen and scribbled a personal note at the top of the page.

To H. Lowe- Please try not to ruin this masterpiece with your tears

Lily got lost in her writing.  She only stopped after her hand cramped so bad she was almost unable to hold the pen.  Once she set the pen down, she saw she already had four pages written.  She had started telling the story of how a woman set out to find her love, who had been lost at sea.  She figured it was appropriate for the sailor whom she was gifting the paper too. "I've never seen you quite so smitten before." A voice spoke softly beside her.  Lily was startled and peered up to see John standing there, already dressed in his dinner attire.  Lily looked out towards the window and saw the soft orange rays of the setting sun illuminating the stained glass.  "Blimey..." Lily groaned as she started piling up her papers, ready to get dressed for dinner.  "Would this be the same H. Lowe who is an officer on this ship?" John quizzed as he followed on her heel. Lily turned and shot her brother a warning look. John just laughed, sticking his hands in his pockets. "Is he the one who has reignited this lost flame in you?" John pressed. Lily rolled her eyes and sighed. "I love you, Johnny but do you ever stop talking?" Lily retorted.

"Cut the rubbish, Lily pad. You were all too excited to walk with him to mail a letter to his Mother. And suddenly after that, you are defying our own parents. I can put two and two together." John said. Lily opened her cabin door and slammed it close. "Put those two together." Lily muttered as she started bustling around the room getting ready for dinner. She picked out a blush pink gown with a sweetheart neckline outlined with lace. Lily was grateful that her Mother wasn't there. Lily wasn't sure she was quite ready to face the consequences of her actions quite yet. Nevertheless, Lily felt empowered again. She knew she would be able to find her confidence again. If a stranger, such as Harold could find confidence in her, surely she'd be able to find it as well.

Harold walked into the chart room ten minutes before his 8pm watch and made himself a cup of coffee. He felt as if he had died after his two hour dog watch, falling asleep almost instantly. But even in his dreams, a distinct pair of hazel eyes made their way to find him. "Did you get enough beauty sleep, majesty?" Second Officer Charles Lightoller light-heartedly teased after Harold relieved James Moody from his post and took a sip of his coffee. "You'd find that someone like me doesn't need much." Harold chuckled. Lightoller was known as a prankster, always pulling pranks and jokes, especially on the junior officers. "Must be how you've caught the attention of a certain First Class passenger. I believe Murdoch said the name was 'Adams'?" Charles poked, giving a sideways glance to catch Harold gulp down the mouthful of coffee he had, his face turning red. Charles chuckled and patted the younger officer on the back. "It's okay to look, my friend. Just can't touch." Charles said before turning and walking away.
