Mr Deyton turned the knob of his door and stepped inside his den. I soon followed after him and looked around the room.

Right across the door was a huge bookcase that took up the whole wall. I walked towards the bookcase and looked back at Mr Deyton with an eyebrow raised, "Mahogany?" I questioned.

He shook his head and walked toward me. He gently touched the spines of a few books before he ran his fingers along the wood and softly said, "Yellowwood."

I nodded and kept looking around the room. The room had a very rustic feel to it surrounded by warm colours: homey browns and oranges and rich ebonies. On either side of the bookcase were cosy-looking loveseats. On one of the loveseats there was a vintage stereo with boxes of CDs next to it with artists such as Barry White, Teddy Pendergrass, Boyz II Men, Westlife and others next to it. Right next to the doorframe was a big desk filled with work, class activities and planning files and, more importantly, I saw a few frames. I stole a glance at Mr Deyton and saw that he was looking at me. I took a step closer to the desk and saw that every single frame was filled with Andy. From a cute, chubby toddler wearing a dungaree till what I'm guessing is a few years ago when he had braces and was still getting buff.

I turned around with my curiosity satiated ready for some answers with a smirk, "Perks of being a spy, hey?"

He smiled for some time before he answered me and said, "It's not stalking, it's spying."

I like the new Deyton.

I made my way over to the loveseat and sat down, I took a pillow and hugged it around me, "So, what have you found out?" I asked him.

He just stared at me. If there was ever a time that Mr Deyton would've lost his cool control to open and close his mouth like a fish I imagined it would've been right now. After a few months of being at SNH, you kinda learn that even though one is not speaking the fact that they keep on gulping tells you that they want to tell you something, the fact that they are holding their arms stiff with their elbows facing forward means that they are keeping something from you. I decided to ask again, "What have you find out?"

Mr Deyton walked closer to me and squatted until his eyes met mine.

There was a pregnant pause.

His mouth moved, saying something almost too soft to hear, but I'd heard it. He had said, "Something that you wouldn't like to know."

Mr Deyton looked at me and I found myself looking away at his intense gaze. I asked again, in possibly the softest voice I can imagine ever coming out of me, "What have you found out?"

Mr Deyton sighed and softly said, "Sometimes people keep things from other people they care about for their own good. You have no reason to believe me, but I need you to believe that I care very much for you, like a parent should, I care about your safety and wellbeing and to carry on protecting you from being hurt I need you to believe in me, okay? I want you to think of me as your dad, and as your dad I have to keep something from you and I need you to be fine with that. I need you to do this for me."

I looked at him and saw that he sincerely meant it. I can't even begin to imagine what he could be keeping from me and I'm not quite sure I liked him keeping things from me concerning me, but nonetheless I found myself nodding and my mouth moved of its own volition, "Yes, of course, I trust you... Just... just tell me when I'm ready to know, okay?"

As soon as I said those words, I realised that I believed in everything I said. I do trust Mr Deyton. Even after the rocky start we had I guess there was something in me that just knew to trust in him and I do.

Mr Deyton got up from his squatting position and sat next to me on the loveseat. Not in a creepy way, it was comfortable and he let me have my space. He sighed and the sound that came out almost sounded pained.

Mr Deyton nodded and grabbed my chin to plant the softest of fatherly kisses on my cheek and whispered, "I will."

Okay...

AGAIN, I'm sorry for the late update. I also have exams coming so updates will be slower...

BUT I do have imternet access and I have written some chapters in advance, so they shouldn't be THAT slow
