I am a day late, i know, but i would like to post a halloween excerpt but... here goes

Because of my outburst in the Gym, my friends (+1) quickly went to change and got out long before the bell rang, so we slowly made our way to Cove Ops.

“Back away ladies and gentlemen. We have a loose cannon over here,” Andrew jokingly says.

“Down, kitty, down!” Asa joins in.

“We need a lion tamer with a whip here,” Lissa says.

I turn back to glare at the three of them and realise that Andy isn’t here.

Ally notices my momentary look of confusion and says, “He went to get an ice pack.”

I can’t help the smile that takes over my face.

“Hey, now, Kris. We don’t want you to be punching-happy, next thing we know you could be trigger-happy,” Ally says.

“When that happens, make sure not to get my face,” says Zach.

“Oh, come on guyz! Please stop with the jokes. The punch was a long time coming and today happened to be the day with my lucky excuse of Combat Training,” I say completely exasperated.

“Deyton sure won’t be happy about this,” Charles says.

“I don’t mind if he glares at me on top of the stank eye he gives me,” I shrug and Charles smiles at our own inside joke.

“How did you find out about Deyton and Andy?” Charles asks.

“Was it a big secret?” I counter.

“Well… no… It’s just that-”

“I have friends who happen to be girls that actually tell me things like friends are supposed to,” I say and see the flash of hurt in Charles’ eyes before it goes away.

“Do you seriously want to have a heart-to-heart with us?” Andrew asks.

I shrug and say, “Wouldn’t hurt.”

“Well in that case: I have an imaginary friend called Gru who is a unicorn and I talk to him every day and I am addicted to Angry Birds.”

“You see, now I know that you are mentally ill and that you are an addict. This means that I know you better and we can develop a better friendship and become a better team.”

“Kris actually has a point you know,” Lissa says.

“So you want us to have a sleep-over with pillow fights and talk about boys and other girly things?” asks Jordan.

“I am not gonna do that if that’s what you mean, friends or not,” Zach says.

“Did we say that?” asks Asa.

“We? You were barely in the conversation,” says Jordan.

“Jordan, I would’ve thought that by now you got it: usually if one triplet is in, we are all in.”

“Guyz chill. I can just feel the testosterone and oestrogen levels rising,” Ally says.

“What we meant was that we should have a day where we can get to know each other aside from the jokes and stuff.” Lissa says.

“Yeah, get under the surface of who you seem to be so that we can work better together,” I finish.

“That’s actually quite a good idea,” Mr Deyton says. I hadn’t even noticed that we had stopped next to the classroom already. “Aren’t you guyz missing one more member?”

“Right over here, Dad,” Says Andy a from down the corridor.

“Dad?”

“Oh just chill, it’s not like everybody here doesn’t know,”

“Why do you have an ice pack?”

“Combat Training,” Andy says looking directly at me and I don’t doubt for a minute that Deyton catches him looking at me. It doesn’t take a math genius to work out who hit him.

Sigh. I need a new +1/ multi-personality disorder ‘friend’.
