Here is the full Chapter 7: Deyton :)
Because of my outburst in the Gym, my friends (+1) quickly went to change and got out long before the bell rang, so we slowly made our way to Cove Ops.
"Back away ladies and gentlemen. We have a loose cannon over here," Andrew jokingly says.
"Down, kitty, down!" Asa joins in.
"We need a lion tamer with a whip here," Lissa says.
I turn back to glare at the three of them and realise that Andy isn't here.
Ally notices my momentary look of confusion and says, "He went to get an ice pack."
I can't help the smile that takes over my face.
"Hey, now, Kris. We don't want you to be punching-happy, next thing we know you could be trigger-happy," Ally says.
"When that happens, make sure not to get my face," says Zach.
"Oh, come on guyz! Please stop with the jokes. The punch was a long time coming and today happened to be the day with my lucky excuse of Combat Training," I say starting off exasperated then end with a smirk.
"Deyton sure won't be happy about this," Charles says.
"I don't mind if he glares at me on top of the stank eye he gives me," I shrug and Charles smiles at our own inside joke.
"How did you find out about Deyton and Andy?" Charles asks.
"Was it a big secret?" I counter.
"Well... no... It's just that-"
"I have friends who happen to be girls that actually tell me things like friends are supposed to," I say and see the flash of hurt in Charles' eyes. Sorry Charles!
"Do you seriously want to have a heart-to-heart with us?" Andrew asks.
I shrug and say, "Wouldn't hurt."
"Well in that case: I have an imaginary friend called Gru who is a unicorn and I talk to him every day and I am addicted to Angry Birds."
"You see, now I know that you are mentally ill and that you are an addict. This means that I know you better and we can develop a better friendship and become a better team."
"Kris actually has a point you know," Lissa says.
"So you want us to have a sleep-over with pillow fights and talk about boys and other girly things?" asks Jordan.
"I am not gonna do that if that's what you mean, friends or not," Zach says.
"Did we say that?" asks Asa.
"We? You were barely in the conversation," says Jordan.
"Jordan, I would've thought that by now you got it: usually if one triplet is in, we are all in."
"Guyz chill. I can just feel the testosterone and oestrogen levels rising," Ally says.
"What we meant was that we should have a day where we can get to know each other aside from the jokes and stuff." Lissa says.
"Yeah, get under the surface of who you seem to be so that we can work better together," I finish.
"That's actually quite a good idea," Mr Deyton says. I hadn't even noticed that we had stopped next to the classroom already. "Aren't you guyz missing one more member?"
"Right over here, Dad," Says Andy a from down the corridor.
"Dad?"
"Oh just chill, it's not like everybody here doesn't know,"
"Why do you have an ice pack?"
"Combat Training," Andy says looking directly at me and I don't doubt for a minute that Deyton catches him looking at me. It doesn't take a math genius to work out who hit him.
Sigh. I need a new +1/ multi-personality disorder 'friend'.For the duration of class Deyton picks on me and for the first 5 times I decide to completely ignore him. I mean the guy is asking me questions that he hasn't even taught us the answers to. And it's not one of those questions that the teacher asks so that they can smile at your stupidity and teach the whole class, it's just a question, wrong answer and move on type of thing.
Covert operations is to prepare spies for the outside world. It's to teach you how to survive out there in the big bad world. Give you tips on how to plant a tracking chip without it being noticed, walk in a forest in the middle of autumn without being heard and teach you to notice the small things that may be overlooked but can make the biggest difference in beating the bad guy or fighting for your life... or at least that's what Ally told me, and so far none of the questions were 'treachery', they were more 'pissed-off-and-vengeful-fatherly'
"Miss Lancaster, are you even listening?" Deyton said breaking me from my thoughts
I look him straight in the eye and say, "No."
Poor soul didn't know what to say, I must have really caught him off guard.
"What were you doing then?" he said when he finally recovered.
"I was thinking about you." Everybody (but Andy) starts to snicker. You see, telling the truth to a spy is the least thing they expect because they are taught from day one how to lie, so it's easy to say that in terms of catching him out, I am on a roll.
"What about me?" The fact that he is even entertaining me with carrying on with this conversation is too much for me, I have to say something.
"How sexy you look in that suit 'n tie," I say and wink.
Deyton's neck and ears start to turn pink and by now the whole class (-1) is laughing. "Um, Miss Lancaster, would you like to meet me after school today?"
"Well if you want me so bad, Sir, you can just stop with the pretences and just ask me out. But not today, got cheerleading and it's a Friday night, if you know what I mean." I'm sure that by now everybody who has noticed Deyton being unfair realises that we are even. "If you'll excuse me, I have to get back to my thinking," I say and quickly zone out.
I feel Asa elbow me and I am suddenly jerked back into reality.
"... Join me outside," Deyton says.
I look questioningly at Asa and she says, "You, Deyton, outside, now.
Then I get up and out of my seat to what Deyton wants from me.
"I would appreciate it if you would refrain from making remarks like that it class," he starts.
"And I would appreciate it if you would stop singling me out for stupid questions just because I whooped your son's arse today," I say and turn for the door but am jerked back by his hand on my arm. I glared at that hand so much that if looks could kill, it would've died of Ebola right then and there.
"I am not done with this conversation."
"I am, not unless you can tell me why you hate me so much. Since day one you have hated me and I would like to know why. Unless you can answer me then I think we both know that I am done with this conversation and couldn't give a rat's tail if you are or not." I say with my arms crossed over my chest.
"I don't know what you mean-"
I raise my hand in the universal sign for stop. "Please, save that for someone stupid and not for me," I say and go back to my seat in class.
"Why do you seem so worked up?" Ally asks.
I only have one word: "Deyton."
Soon after that Deyton returns to the classroom and carries on teaching without picking on me and then the bell rings.
"Miss Lancaster?" I hear my name being called and internally groan before looking up at who wants to have a nice lil' chat with me.
Then I see it's the Headmistress.
"Yes Headmistress Hutton?"
"A word please."
Shit.
Hell no! Is what I think, but, "Yes, of course," is what I actually comes out of my mouth. I walk outside to where she is standing and wait for her to bomb on me for my lack of respect.
"I know what happened in Combat and I heard your... words... with Mr Deyton," she says.
"Oh... well, I uh... you see it wasn't really... but-" I fumble around for an excuse and come up with nothing.
"Don't worry I'm not here to shout at you. Think of me as a fellow lady now. I just want to congratulate you on putting those men with Deyton blood in them in place. They are so pig-headed that even I have trouble keeping them in line," she says with a smile.
"How is it your place to keep them in line?" I blurt without thinking. Stupid mouth!
"I'm dating Logan," she whispers and shares a conspiratorial smile with me while I stand there frozen and she walks away. It really was her and Deyton talking when Ally and I were rushing to the DH; as soon as 'Logan' fell from her lips I was sure.
Thing is, who were they talking about?Ok now guyz, comment!!! please or i wont update (just kidding... maybe). please dont think that i'm one of those needy writers here on the watt of the pad, but i just want to know what you like and dont like: any feedback, really. you can also send me messages on my inbox... sooo... yeah :)
I would also say that neither I nor Kris think that Ebola is a laughing matter and we fully support those coming up with a cure for our 21st century Black Plague and for those suffering and recovering ..1Dreamer2x :D <3!!*
