OK. I think I am officially freaking the hell out!! It has been exactly one month till I heard The News, and exactly one day till 'The News' becomes a total and complete reality. My parents have been keeping this news from me for months, and then, on the last day of school, they dropped the big bomb of The News on me shredding any bit of happiness in my being. It's January, the beginning of the New Year and school year here in South Africa and it's not much of a happy start. The News: "Honey, we are so proud of you for this amazing year! And we have some big news for you... Silverton North High has requested that you come to their school, and knowing how happy you would be, we said 'Yes, of course'. Next year you will go to SNH to carry on your studies." (Scream!!!!). I swear I was so angry that if I had a weapon nearby they would've been admitted into hospital!

You see, SNH is the snottiest and suckish school EVER in existence. All they do is walk around in their uniforms with their designer-everything accessories and fake tans. Basically it's a school for rich people and the 'special' thing about it is the fact that YOU don't apply there, no, THEY "request" you to come there. No matter how crazed and loaded parents are they have to request your presence before you are even let through the front office. The kids there are the big turn-off, because otherwise I would go Gaga over this opportunity. They are total and complete bitches that need a big reality check. From head to toe they are fake, I mean some of their tans are so fake they look like and orange puked on them and their makeup is so over-the-top they look like they should join the circus.

I'm sure you can sense the whole non-appeal there

My 3 besties are coming over in 5 minutes so we can have one last chilled time together before I leave. Delayne (Dee), Tarryn and Mel (Melanie). Delayne: the shortest girl of us but sassiest person you will ever meet, Tarryn: the sensible gossip queen, Mel: the funny and musical one of us and me, Kristen (Kris): I am very sarcastic, smart and quite shy. There really isn't that much to say about me I guess...

"Hey, Kris! Get your fat ass over here. We only have a few hours till you become a complete bitch and I want to remember as much of the good in you as possible."

"Whoa, OK. No need for a potty mouth now, Dee" I said while I grabbed my purse. I am so glad that my parents have gone to the shop to buy some groceries; otherwise they would bite Dee's head off for swearing.

"Don't give us that 'potty mouth' crap as if your parents are here, Hun..." Tarryn started.

"... because we only have, like, 6 hours of this fucking day left till you leave for SNH", Mel finished.

I guess the Rentals'll have to bite all their heads off...

"Chill out guyz, I just gotta lock the door then we can leave."

After watching a movie and spending some time at the spa getting The Full Bod' Treatment, we decide to stop at Cinnabon for a bun and a smoothie.

"Guyz, I have something to say..." I said.

"Hold up, my Something Mushy's About to Happen Senses are tingling," Mel said.

"Oh shut up Mel, I'm leaving for SNH tomorrow and leaving you guyz behind, of course it's something mushy," I said, playfully rolling my eyes.

"Just get on with it," said Tarryn

"OK. I just want to say that I'll really miss you guys and that these past few years you have grown on me and we have become more like sisters, rather than just best friends and that I hope nothing will change now that we are in different schools. Truckloads of mega, epic love!" I said through a tightening in my throat that I try to flush down with my strawberry smoothie and cinnamon-chocolate flavoured bun.

"Aw, man! That really means a lot Kris!" said Tarryn while her eyes glossed.

"Damn, this is really happening isn't it?" Dee said uncharacteristically slowly, while she finishes her bun. "Shit just got real... Well, in any case, I'd just like to say that we feel the same, Kris. We'll miss you too and talk to each other as often as we can!"

"Yeah, totally!" I said with a hoarse voice.

"I think this calls for a group hug," Tarry said as she pulled us all in. We all sighed and chorused in our "Aaws", with a few sniffles here and tears there, until we pulled back and laughed at the sight of each other's messed -up make up and returned home.

Yeah, I know it doesn't say much about SNH but I just want to test the waters with this chapter. Please comment and tell me about what you think: of this chapter, Kris and her friends, anything really!!
