Hey there readers!! :) I know it's been quite a while but you cannot even imagine how much stress and work I've had these past couple of days. Sorry for the late update but school and family must come first. Also, my "update day" will most likely be on Fridays. Sometimes I may give a surprise update during the week on a different day if I don't have a lot going on but for now just count on updates on Fridays. Thanks for being so patient and enjoy the chapter<3

Quick Note: "Beth" is played by "BethStypayhorlikson"

~Carter's POV~

The line went dead and I just stared at the blinking number of seconds the phone call lasted before it returned to my home screen and eventually locked itself. What the hell just happened? Although it was an "unknown" number calling, I wasn't stupid .. I knew it was Kaylee. I'd know her voice anywhere. She has some nerve calling me after all the shit she pulled with my stubborn sister. I was somewhat used to Gwen acting out like this, because well, we lived together. Kaylee, however, not so much. She was a sweet-heart, a good student, and wise beyond her years which is probably why I'm so attracted to her. Wait, WAS attracted to her. Those boys probably got the girls drunk. That's the only logical explanation for why that call happened and why they decided to not come back to the hotel tonight.

I felt my blood begin to boil and my fists started clenching as I recalled the events from earlier. I was supposed to be the chaperone looking out for them and they deliberately disobeyed me. I didn't want to call my Mom, though. She would just freak out, punish Gwen and tell Kaylee's Mom what happened which wouldn't turn out too good since Kaylee's parents are the strictest people ever. Why do I care though? They deserve to be grounded for not listening to me! I sighed. As much as they annoyed me, I was their age once. I know what they're going through and it is their favorite band. Hell, if I met the spice girls when I was their age I probably would've disobeyed anybody who got in my way of spending time with them too!

No matter how hard I tried, though, I couldn't get my mind off of Kaylee and that god-forsaken kiss between her and that blonde-haired irish boy. What was his name .. Nigel? No, that wasn't it. Anyway, I really needed a distraction. Something to help me move on and forget about Kaylee. She obviously was happy with this new guy, but their was no telling at this point if it would last. He had tours and shit and I could tell he would end up breaking her heart someday but whatever, I'll let her find that out the hard way. I won't be the one to wait around forever. Just then my phone bleeped signaling I had a text. It was from Beth, my mom's intern. We were good friends ever since we met at the office Christmas party last year. Let's just say things got a little heated when we snuck away to an empty coat closet. She had just gotten out of a bad relationship and I was wasted so we hooked up. After that night we promised to just forget about it but still remain friends.

When I opened the text, I smiled.

Bethy: Hope your NYC trip is going well. We need to catch up! How about we grab dinner one night after you get back? xx

Reply to Bethy: Sounds great! We get back on Sunday but I'll probably be xhausted from all the driving so how about we plan on Monday at 8. You can pick the place.

She replied before I had the chance to even put the phone back in my pocket.

Bethy: That works! How about Classic Eatery at 8 then?

Reply to Bethy: I'm good with that. See you then, Bethy!

Bethy: See you then, Carter :) I miss u .. xx goodnight
