Doing what is right is not always easy, and what is easy is not always right. It can be challenging to make the right decision when we rely on others' opinions more than our own. However, as we learn to trust ourselves more, choosing the right path becomes simpler.

He regarded Shin Hye with suspicion, finding her presence perplexing. It seemed out of character for someone like her to travel from the north side of the city to a small bakery downtown. Sensing that something was amiss, his instincts urged him to take action swiftly. Without hesitation, he grasped her arm tightly and locked eyes with her.

"Why are you here? What's going on?" he demanded, his voice firm. Shin Hye met his gaze with a sharp look and promptly withdrew her arm.

"What's wrong with you? Why are you so on edge? Can't we just have breakfast peacefully?" she questioned, puzzled by his sudden hostility. Haein let out a frustrated sigh and swiftly turned around as he sensed someone approaching from behind.

"Hello, Mr. Jung! It's wonderful to have you back," Jennie greeted with a beaming smile. Haein narrowed his eyes at her, surprised by her sudden warmth, as she had never shown him any respect or kindness before.

"Oh, you've been here before?" Shin Hye inquired of Haein, picking up on the waitress's comment. Jennie smiled at the woman and returned the gesture.

"Oh, yes, Miss... Mr. Jung is a regular customer here at the bakery. Fruitcake and fruit loaf are his favorites! Would you like to try some?" the waitress offered. Haein's eyes widened in disbelief at the amount of information Jisoo's employee was sharing with Shin Hye. It felt like a scene from a movie, where he was a mere spectator waiting to see how things would unfold.

"You know what...yes, I'd like to try my fiancé's favorite cake from this bakery," Shin Hye replied. Jennie's surprise was evident upon learning they were engaged, and her enthusiasm only grew.

"Oh, that's wonderful news! Engaged? Congratulations, I'm so happy for you both! You deserve someone as kind-hearted as you, sir!" Jennie exclaimed, her eyes sparkling with joy. Haein was utterly perplexed by the sudden shift in the waitress's demeanor.

"What is she playing at?" Haein wondered, his confusion evident in his expression.

"I'll go get the fruitcake for you," Jennie announced, bowing before disappearing to fetch the dessert. As soon as she was out of sight, Shin Hye shot Haein a doubtful look.

"So, you're a regular here! Who would've guessed, huh?" she remarked, not holding back. Haein let out a deep breath, narrowing his eyes in irritation.

"Well, once you taste the fruitcake, you'll see why I keep coming back! It's the best I've ever had," he replied before taking a seat. In his mind, he silently prayed that Jisoo wouldn't show up at that moment.

"I suppose that's the only reason, right? Why else would you bother coming to a place like this?" she inquired, casting a disdainful glance around the bakery. Haein's expression darkened at her question, finding it somewhat hypocritical coming from her.

"I could ask you the same. Why are you here then?" he retorted, his dissatisfaction evident. Shin Hye rolled her eyes in response and shifted her gaze to her coffee.

"A friend recommended this place to me! Just like you said, it's the best, right?" she replied, meeting his gaze with a steely look. He let out a soft chuckle at her poor attempt at lying, not buying any of it. He sensed she was keeping something from him. Amidst their conversation, he lost track of time, only to suddenly spot the one person he had hoped wouldn't appear.

"Oh, shit!" he cursed inwardly, his eyes widening in embarrassment as Jisoo entered the bakery. She entered with a bright smile that quickly faded upon seeing him. Jennie noticed the sudden change in Jisoo's expression as soon as she laid eyes on him.
